NOLA not fricking around with Mardi Gras this year

They have so many more anti car but pedestrian friendly barricades along the parade route. They’ve lined the back side of the neutral ground with cop cars where we are at. Some places they’ve made quickie concrete barriers. Feels like I’ve seen more officers around than I have many other places. And certainly tons more vehicles. Not sure if there’s state help or an uptick in their numbers or what. They also have parts of st Charles barricaded in a way that allows traffic but only at very slow speeds due to being forced to weave.
But they appear to not be fricking around this year after new years.

The weather is going to be perfect. What a great Mardi Gras with Trump in office! Everyone is feeling great.
This is the way it should be. Enjoy the weekend, fellas.

Definitely noticed more police presence uptown. Saw a few ICE agents walking the route Tuesday night.

You are correct. They got caught with their pants down in Jan. Theyve unloaded resources and should

If they invest in safety like that year round…the city could be one of the more desirable destinations in the country.

That’s a good thing.
When that many people gather in an area, it should be extremely safe for everyone and deter violent crime

I saw Tuesday there might be some pretty strong storms. Hopefully it will not be until later.

Far from it.
I’ve hated going to Nola for years because of safety concerns.
