Anyone who has an automatic draft connected to any bill is an idiot.

Anyone who has one with any agency associated with the City of New Orleans nprobably should be interdicted.

My mtg comp overpaid my tax bill. I’ll get the refund in five years. It’s comical how bad records are kept here.

Had meter read on January 31st. No bill until today with a meter read date of May 2nd and days of usage 33.

I am positive more than 33 days have passed between January 31 and May 2nd.

6 months ago I got a SW&B for like $5000.

I called and told them to frick themselves essentially. The said not to pay it, just pay the "normal amount" and they would send out an inspector.

The next month the bill is $3000. Still no inspector. So I call again. Again, send the "normal amount" and they will eventually send an inspector.

4 months after that I've been getting bills for $1000 a month, still no inspector.

Same exact thing happened to me. I’m still getting ridiculous bills so I continue the same normal amount I’ve always paid.

I actually went 3 months without even getting a bull. I just laugh whenever I see a bill now.

She should be thankful for what she has, some countries don’t have running water or plumbing

How did I miss this thread yesterday? I still have a $5k bill in limbo. This is the second one in two years. The place needs to be privatized in a hurry. It is a fricking nightmare to deal with them.

My neighbor was overcharged, poor guy. They wouldnt come turn his water back on until he paid it. Was over $1k. which is damn near impossible for a 1 bedroom shotgun.

I only do it for my Auto insurance, because its less if you have auto draft set up.

I used to let Amazon just auto draft every year fro prime until they decide to double charge me last year. Had to call the bank to cancel the reoccurring charge. Amazon refunded me, but was still a pain in the butt to deal with.

This is the free landscaping (both sides of fence) they performed on my yard on NYE. I guess I'm lucky they threw pieces of sod back on top of the dirt.

I think the city should have Jefferson parish take over their water control for a six month period.

In that time totally disband the swb.

Then rebuild a sewer department, a water department and a stormwater removal department.

There is a "secret" group ran by local investigation reporters on Facebook.
It's worth joining if you Facebook.

When I worked at the bank, we used to deal with this a lot. Elderly customer comes in with a bill for $1000 from the S&WB. I have to get on the phone and run the gauntlet of their phone system before I get someone who gives half a frick. At times it would take up my whole day to help these people.

The recently sworn-in New Orleans City Council is demanding the Sewerage & Water Board live up to a law requiring it provide them with quarterly reports providing comprehensive information about the state of the public utility, an obligation it has skirted in the past. A letter sent to the S&WB Thursday, and signed by all seven council members, blasts the agency for not living up to its obligations to provide quarterly reports to the previous council and lays out a long series of demands for what kind of information will be expected in the future.

quote:

"The first order of business is to restore public confidence in the S&WB," the council members wrote. "As it currently stands, severe mistrust of the S&WB directly results from terrible customer service, lack of transparency, and poor efforts to engage the public. We strongly urge several recommended improvements to mitigate some of these issues and request information on factors that have contributed to the current state of affairs."

letter

The next council meeting with SWB should be entertaining.
