Guess you could tell her to go to weddingwire and leave them a bad review as well.
Indeed. Take them to court but also make sure you blast them on the sites where people review these kind of things.
By the way, if I pay a wedding band $3000 and then they leave after one song, I'm beating the shite out of somebody. You're a hack in a band where each man is walking with $400-500 each. You get up wherever the bride tells you to and play the fricking music.
These same "bands" bitch about DJ's stealing their gigs.

Band claims they're too cold to play. They're provided a heater next to the stage. Claim they're still too cold, play first dance song for the couple then depart.
I legitimately hope they never book another gig the rest of their lives.
Too cold to play? You're a local event cover band not the rolling stones. frick you.
They showed up to the wedding, it was inside a walled tent and they had a heater.
And if you don't play when it's cold why do you even book gigs in the winter?
I agree, the wedding planners shouldve read the contract, but frick that band.

my friends played for the city for NYE. It was 28. They played for 3 hours. The equipment was fine.

Bro, as a professional musician myself (sludge metal) you don't realize how bad the cold weather can be when you have to play. Our fingers are our lifelines and if we hurt them because it's cold we could be out of a job

I never received a contract to sign or notice that the band can't play outside when it's cold.

Now to my understanding they had proper cover for their equipment as stated in the worse "contract" ever
Was there a contract or not? If there was, then you should be good to get your money back if you met the requirements. If there was no contract, you are a fricking dumbass for paying over $3K for anything without one.

I totally agree. That's why from September to April no bands play anywhere in the world.

I just feel bad that this band is getting slandered here. For many musicians this is our dream and bad publicity like this could keep you from getting signed

But he is an ARTIST! fricking local guitar hacks believe they share DNA with Beethoven.

Sludge metal band defending cover band that won't play in the cold. Solid troll attempt.
Do you think anybody is looking to sign a wedding cover band called the Nola Dukes?

Got even more info now. Wife has since posted email correspondence with the band:
One email response included "A formal quote and standard terms. This functions as a contract. If you prefer a hard copy, this can be printed and mutually signed."
The email goes on to list terms, only item related to weather states:
"...10. Bad weather: for outdoor performances, we STRONGLY suggest that you provide rain and sun protection for your band. Please be aware that if you choose not to provide adequate cover, the band reserves the right to stop playing at any time if they decide their equipment, safety, livelihoods or instruments are at reasonable risk. No refund will be offered if acceptable weather cover is not provided."
So these assholes coordinated with the venue to have the couple pay $1600 for a tent because of the weather, which to me seems that's them saying they need adequate cover, and then still left because they said it was too cold after being provided a heater that technically didn't need to be provided in the first place.
frick this band.

Yes indeed. These dudes sound like some true pricks.

At first the name of the band didn't ring a bell until I went to their website. This was the same band that played at my nephew's wedding reception, but they played inside at tchefuncta club estates, a few years ago.

Sounds like an attempt at a classy Bourbon St. gay bar.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Hey Guacho, you deserve bad publicity if you do dumb shite like this. As of now, the only medium that they haven't silenced is this thread. They're blocking communication from the couple and deleting reviews on reputable wedding websites. That's complete BS. I hope this thread blows up and they lose business.

ok...if that's the case you really don't think the band could have handled it any better? You still think they deserve to get paid after not playing??
