I'm playing Carter in the morning.

If I get arrested for destroying property, I'll never make my tee time tomorrow.

DEFEND!

All those bumper stickers can go! We will stand like we have always done and they can take the 26.2 stickers with them

Will Jackson Square be next?

New Orleans should be building monuments, not dismantling them.

Yes. I would bet money on it. Mitch will bring it up but this time he'll lose. What a prick.

this is purely a theory I'm working on... and has no merit beyond that but...

Mitch Landrieu... as the last Landrieu with political power left currently... used this as a way to get back at the right wingers that helped push his poor sister out of the US Senate

he knew this would get their dander up and when the opportunity presented itself it was too good of an opportunity to pass up

It's a good thing NOLA has a ton of money to dedicate to this project. I mean it's not like crime is on the rise and the streets are crumbling....

Mitch is a fricking hypocrite Blacks should stop whining and get educated

So it's only black people who want the monuments down? Try again.

I am 100 % against their removal by the way.

I don't have much of a dog in this fight, but it seems wrong for 8 politicians with questionable motives and mediocre intellect to decide to change aspects of the city that are 125 years old or more.

This is definitely something that should go to a direct vote of the people. At least that way it's a 100k or so mediocre intellects that decide.

fortunately none of the Landrieu sons are remotely qualified to hold 9-5 jobs so the political lineage ends with Mitch.
