I haven't watched a ton of it lately, but I watched the start of it. Most of the literate sounding speakers were not in favor of removing the statues.

The Civil War was ultimately about the state's right to choose its own policy. It's hard to imagine this time, but prior to the Civil War individual states had more power in their relative jurisdictions than the very small Federal government. This was a time before the hundreds of bloated Federal Agencies that exist solely to reign in local jurisdictions to adhere to Federal policies.
