Yes I am fricking serious. It sounds ridiculous, I know. That's because it is. But it's true.

NOLA City Council Confederate Monuments Meeting by bountyhunter
Most ironic thing to me is the North was the ones to make it a thing about race. The Civil War was all about an economic issue that would have worked itself out without Northern intervention. Apart from the John Brown incident and some of the attacks by pro-abolitionist radicals in Kansas, this didn't become a thing about slavery until the North was losing the war and they needed a reason for Yankee soldiers to keep fighting a war in a legally independent nation state.

I honestly haven't studied this shite much. But if it wasn't about slavery then what was all the hubbub about the Missouri Compromise and Dred Scott about, and why is slavery so prominent in the constitutions of the slave states after secession? Really seems like it was a big deal.

Of course we knew the guy wearing the dashiki would show up...

He had a great speaking voice. Too bad everything he said was crazy

Chuck is an award-winning spoken word artist/bandleader and he runs the performance venue in the Healing Center in the Marigny. Not quite a paid pro, but he definitely prepared and practiced that just for this event.

That being said, celebrating any military officer who laid it all on the line for his countrymen has nothing to do with race. I feel sorry for the shameless, ignorant people who are for this movement to erase our history.

It's so fricking sad that you are this delusional, and worse that you are so self assured about this idiocy that isn't even close to being true.

Read a real history book. Something like apostles of disunion, hell read some primary sources because what you just said would be laughable if it wasn't so pitiful.
