The increased resentment and aversion towards hard work will be a windfall for those who ignore that shite and just bust arse anyway.
Let the kids with dreams of living off UBI do their thing. Some of them will figure it out and generate their own wealth. Most will just be angry and average or below until social security kicks in.

But if they can get the job done at home in less time, why pay them the same salary they command "butts in seats" for 40 hours a week?
Because many employees have always been working well under 40 hours a week, they just wouldn't have to sit at their desks pretending to work for that extra 5-10 hours (or however long) anymore.
I don't think, for many people, about doing less work. Rather, it's about not demanding employees work 40 hours a week if not necessary because "that's what I did at your age."

There’s no point now brah
I work harder than y’all and everybody but me is on food stamps and all I get is more taxes
Id gladly eat lobster every day but instead I’m stuck eating poor shite because I’m the only idiot in America that still works
I’m just glad I don’t have to plan for retirement because the democrats are just gonna mass grave us in the fema camp

You can always just retire now, drain your savings and then end it all once you run out of money.

Holy shite, didn't notice who I was responding to. Hello, fella.

I pretty much agree with all of this. Work has become a racket.

think that the younger generation just feels it's ridiculous to have butts in seats for 40 hours a week, when that amount of time is usually not necessary to get the job done well.

fair enough. But if they can get the job done at home in less time, why pay them the same salary they command "butts in seats" for 40 hours a week? Again, I think some employees forget that being at an office is a matter of accessibility to the employer. Not just productivity.
WFM accessibility in the age of email, cell phones, Slack, etc, etc is arguably higher than accessibility is in a medium to large office in which if someone isn't at their desk, you might not be able to find them unless you go searching.
Accessibility is up, productivity is up, pay is flat.

i was referring more to working a full 40(+) hours than physical location.

Don’t know if it’s already been it here’s goes.
I employ mostly general labor types. Mostly bottom of the barrel labor pool is what I’m drawing from.
The problem I see is that individuals are completely content living as if they’re only make 10$/hour, they’re accustomed to this lifestyle. They’ve made it work for years.
Now all of a sudden they can make 15-20$/hr? Well they don’t see the need in working a full 40 hour week.
It’s maddening to me, but whatever

Wrong! Shareholders take on risk, C-suite manages it. Employees have opportunity risk. They also have their own risks as the corporations and some even more tangible like health risks. Credit risk but credit risk where you can't feed your family as opposed to dissolution. A corporation doesn't have a family to feed.
