I’m not a leftist and it painfully obvious right leaning media is just as corrupt as left leaning media and yes that’s where a lot of you are getting your talking points.

That's dumb. These countries joined NATO for protection from Russia not to have the power to attack.

What’s dumb is thinking the Russians have the same perspective as you.

Do you think the Russians think of themselves as the bad guys and we are the good guys?

There are other ways to topple governments other than militarily.

So you're of the opinion that Vladimir Putin is a great guy and justified in attacking Ukraine, right?
I only ask one thing.

If you are so certain the Putin must be stopped:

-Strap up
-Find an XXL body armor
-Book a plane ticket to the closest open airport to Ukraine
-Join the resistance

Leave me, my children, and my tax dollars out of your delusions.

I thought you were saying the invasion was to give Vlad a buffer zone for security reasons. No?

I did.

These are just as much military borders/buffers as they are cultural/political/ideological buffers. People in Russia look at the west these days and see the kind of bullshite we bog ourselves down with like tranny pronouns, everything is racist, muh patriarchy, and every other batshit progressive cause de jour and they don't want that in their society. They're a very traditional culture. In fact, there's been a revival of going back to deep cultural traditions in the last decade as a response to what they see in the west.

I don't want war. But this is the exact mentality of western Europe in the 1930s after being devastated by WW1. Look how that turned out. I don't know what the answer is. Countries and city-states have been invading each other for thousands of years. It will probably keep happening for thousands of years. How you respond to it goes a long way on how bad the bloodshed is.

Last I checked neither of those places are in Russia.

At least not yet anyway.

So you think the U.S. would be cool if Russia overthrew the Cuban government, installed their own puppet government in Cuba, and then threatened to take Guantanamo Bay?

Yep, easily one of the best posts in this thread, if not the best one.

As soon as Clinton lost, the "Russia Russia Russia" crap started, and posters like DS, Leclerc, etc, were all over it.

Really is amazing to watch the mental gymnastics here.

So their response? "Fox news! Fox news! Fox news!"

Programmed, brain dead, retards. All of them.

These are the same idiots that cheered wildly at killing our economy over Covid simply because they hated the fact that Trump had us going in the right direction there. Trump was also pulling out troops and leading peace talks in the middle east.

Who knew Progs loved war so much?

Literally nobody has suggested we send troops to Ukraine, but we’re about 18-24 months before some of you suggest we not live up to article 5 if Russia encroaches on the Baltic states.

Yeah just because there was a coup that led to a regime Putin doesn’t like, that doesn’t make the US “responsible” for him

You think the US wasn’t involved even AFTER finding out Biden was making millions off Burisma in Ukraine as a front ? Remember when he had the Ukrainian president fire the prosecutor for looking into it?

You have your head so far in the sand

I'm not left or right, and I don't watch Fox!!!

l never directly called you a leftist, I just implied leftists because you act like one when using their talking points. I like debate, but when you use fox or some other ad-hominem/straw-man, it takes away from debate where we can learn.

Continue to Support your arguments with facts and logic from your perspective, ignore the BS and don't add to the BS!

For Ukraine.....no way

but, should the progression not be kept in check, a time will absolutely come that does affect your life. this is potentially far bigger than Ukraine.

No one's saying send in troops for Ukraine (well no one I've talked to).

So is Biden. That doesn't mean a foreign power has the right to come into the US and overthrow our democracy.

I don't think It's about Russia at all. This is about a nationalistic, paranoid, autocratic dictator that wants to regain his country's former "greatness."

Most Russians only know what Putin's press tells them.

Of course not but that wouldn’t justify invasion

No it's just this whole "we must universally condemn this and if you disagree you're an anti American traitor" that's all very eerie from a government and media that continuously preys on its own people. Like I said it's the early stages. Right now we are 100% getting jingoism from the media and leftists everywhere. It's crazy.

So taking a US military base wouldn't justify retaliation of military means? What should we do? Increases sanctions?

A boots on ground war with Russia would be bad. No one wants that. IMO dismantling the Russian oligarchs is a start, cause chaos within their circle. And politicians business people throughout the EU US. Gerhard Schroeder, Roman Abramovich types. People get angry when you F with their money. Just my 2 cents.
