You have not learned. This happens because the school lets in bad apples and then the bad apples invite more bad apples who don’t even attend the school. To stop it entirely you need to stop letting in bad apples. Look we understand LSU is not an Ivy League with high standards but it was never like this even 6-10 years ago. There were borderline standards but it appears that there is nothing now

As of several minutes ago the Common Data set for 2025 fall incoming freshman class showing % that actually submitted ACTs or SATs amongst other stuff is still missing in action along with the 2026 Spring Enrollment at a Glance which would break down demographics of campus and more importantly of undergraduates on campus.

I would guess the ACT/SAT submission rate of the 2025 incoming freshman dropped lower than 2024’s only having 47% submit scores along with possibly an increasing number of enrollees with higher GPAs not submitting scores. Maybe some weird change with scholarship and grant $ totals that shows up more. That seems like it would have all been expected after past several years, so the common data set not posted online yet is very strange. Seems like 2 years ago LSU’s website had a revised version posted towards the end of May.

I honestly cannot think of any valid reason the enrollment at glance numbers have not been updated for the 2026 Spring by now, and I have started to wonder if more blacks are sticking around in the Spring due to an over abundance of scholarships and grants handed to them compared to white undergraduates causing whites to make up more of the annual dip in Spring enrollment than usual which put white undergraduates too close to 50% if not just below 50% for the Spring.

They might be hoping they pull off a fall census miracle and get white undergraduates back with official fall census numbers. They might have to include duel enrollees, graduate students, and professional students in their totals they push in press releases this fall.

WAFB 9 News reached out to a co-owner of The Lotus but was not able to get in touch. Someone at the business said there was a block party Monday night that drew a larger crowd than expected.

A spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Police Department said the department does not believe there were any permits in place for any large events.

The police should've been there at 6:00 and shut it down before it even grew.
All it takes is the police to keep an eye on social media. Find out where the party is going down, and enforce permit requirements before the party starts.

Southern game was bad. Weed smoke everywhere and the worst post game traffic since mid 2000s. Northgate fiasco last year and as seen here is all about the merchants and the crowds they attract. A smoke shop and a hookah lounge on the same block and no police presence to disperse a crowd of expensively dressed loiters....recipe for disaster.

Yeah but prior to the SU game, lots of SU fans and alumni never went by LSU because they believed that was a “racist” and “white” area.

After that game they got a taste of LSU and how fun it is and so they have been coming by in droves ever since.

Couple that with Tate getting rid of all requirements and allowing in every minority around and here we are.

I think I now agree with Gary chambers we need to invest in north Baton Rouge, give them bars, restaurants, grocery stores, hookah shops, daquari cafes, subsidized housing, all the federal government grants they can get.

Let it be its own city, can call it whatever cultural fitting name they want, hell it can be the first ever historically black city, they can all go to the great southern university. I’d be willing to pay more taxes for this l.

Shooting near independence park, these takeovers, what is the common denominator that keeps ruining areas??

There are 2 sets of SU fans: paying fans and loiters. Most paying SU fans have been to LSU games, and at the SU game they were not the issue. SU has had, and successively addressed the issue of loiters. If you go to an SU game the worst thing youre going to see on campus where tailgaters are will be handful of girls inappropriately dressed. These loiters are young, no home training, smoke a lot of weed and all they do is flood a happening scene, harass girls and put forth bravado.

The girls may dress nice, but the guys all wear the same jeans and a tight white T-shirt

Thats also the fall (2022) that the Honors dorm had the sista brawl. Seems like there were some other issues in parking lot or nearby the Honors dorm that fall. I think that was Tate’s first full freshman class where his policies and focuses were in effect for entire process. Even with ACT/SAT’s being voluntary the class’s average ACT score dropped half a point, and by 2023’s fall freshman class to show an increase to counter the demographic shift becoming more obvious Tate shifted to ACT super scores and comparing super scores to true composite scores on top of submission rates dropping due to being voluntary.

I remember reading topics complaining about vehicle break in's during the SU game. You can guarantee this issue is going to 10x from here on out, all season..... good luck

It’s not 80% but it’s the most it’s ever been. I’d bet 25%-30%, with white student being around 50%. The remaining 20-25% mixed between Asian and Hispanic.

There’s a reason GentleJackJones’s kids are at College of Charleston and the youngest literally just started at Auburn…I also get on campus for a football game once or twice a year now.

After seeing some of the stuff I saw at the SC game, there's no chance in hell I would feel comfortable sending my kids to LSU. I know they cracked down hard after that weekend, but it was BAD

This is all President Tates fault but you'll get down voted on the Rant for criticism.
