I have a map from 1840 that shows it in the right place. My 1798 map has Antarctica as "Terra Austraulas " and it has New Zealand in the right spot.

It’s like you people never heard of the geologic phenomenon of Continental Drift.

You mean marketing. These globe and map manufacturers need to change stuff every so often to force people to buy them. It's just like when a professional sports team changes uniforms. Or an athlete changes numbers. When you and I were in school there was no South ocean. But there is now.
