Will be region by region. From Cuomo’s press conference just now

“New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday announced the light at the end of the coronavirus pandemic tunnel, revealing regions of the Empire State should prepare for reopening after the state-wide pause is set to end on May 15.

“We start a new chapter today in many ways. It’s a new phase,” Cuomo said at a press briefing from Rochester Regional Health. “We are, from my point of view, on the other side of the mountain. Now we can intelligently turn toward reopening.”

No way. This makes way too much sense. I don't believe it.

Not only that, but the reopening will be locally & regionally controlled. As in, the oversight of the opening will be handled by various local people. Here in Central NY it includes county legislative chairs, county executives, a former mayor of Syracuse & executive director of the NY Thruway authority, and private sector people.

Still no barbershops, tattoo parlors, outside dining, etc but non-essential retailers can offer curbside pickup or in-store pickup. It also allows non-essential construction and commercial fishing to start up again.

Hey neighbor . Drove through the southern tier yesterday on my way back and it was empty as usual. No reason corning, elmira, etc. should have been shut down

Nah. My prediction is an easy one. Michigan's governor is trying to get that VP nomination with Biden and she's going to die on the "keep it all shut down" hill

Hey Cuse, where are you again? Oswego here and it is dead as a doornail on the lake. 75 total cases out of 2,000, but the big fear was the number would rise with the Downstate students going away for Spring Break. Since they were all told to not return if they didn't stay on campus it probably helped to slow the infection rate at the beginning.
