Is there anything better than a brand new, crack free windshield to start the day? It's like the world opens up.

I have lived in 9 states during my adult life. Only had to replace 1 windshield before moving to Louisiana.

I've replaced 3 in the last 5 years here in the good ole red stick

How much did it cost you or did your insurance cover it?

Why is it I always get a rock on a new windshield within 2 weeks of getting it and rarely get another after that?

Aint that the truth? The only 2 vehicle i have purchased in my life got rocks to the windshield within a month of purchasing the vehicle. Actually, my first truck got a huge rock or something to the grill on the spillway within a week of buying it. I was some kind of mad

That's just how it works. I had a new Dodge Ram back in 2000. They were doing a ton of road work between Dothan and Troy. Caught a rock one day and it spread a thin crack across my line of sight. We got it replaced that weekend. Within a month I had another one. It wasn't noticeable, so I didn't bother with replacing it. Waited about a year or two, replaced it, and within 3 days caught another rock near Montgomery.

Same thing happened with my Jeep. I bought it summer of 2012. First weekend I had it I drove down to the beach and picked up my brother in law on the way. Somewhere south of Montgomery I caught a rock.

New windshield installs need to be installed perfectly, or else. I bet your inexpensive install guy had his hands all over the new windshield.

Begs the question. When will automakers create windshields that are fare more likely to crack OUTWARDS(let you fly through it and save your life potentially) but less likely to crack inwards(rock or more deadly object heading your way)? Seems like technology would make this the norm.

why not? I have a $0 deductible for windshields and I've been told that those claims don't affect our premiums

When I lived in Houston the interstates and loops around the city ate windshields like Mexican chiclets.

Never seen so many thrown rocks before or after
