Most storms this time of year get kicked down to Mexico due to the dome of high pressure that sits over the south, which in turn makes it hot as balls in the south.

I say let the mesicans have this one.

PV, for most of yalls purposes, just relates to shear.

The idea is, sometimes a hurricanes outflow can destroy the potential vorticity. This means it'll fight off the thing shearing it and thus get no shear and remain strong.
Thank you.

Is it proper to say “more PV” and “less PV”? If so, does more PV mean conditions favor strengthening and less PV means conditions don’t favor strengthenung?

Or, am I totally off base here?

From Major to Hurricane between 8pm Tuesday and 8pm Wednesday.

What’s going to slow it down? Shear?? Or is that assuming it goes over Jamaica? I mean I have no clue. Just curious.

You're about to really get into the weeds.

Pretty sure it means less of a chance for it going much into the gulf.

Depnds on how long you’re staying. It’s probably going to hit Cozumel assuming the track holds up, Friday.
