LaToya is a Politician and nothing more. She cares about her political career first and foremost.

Even black people will get screwed by her unless they’re a part of her inner circle

honestly it’s easier to be insulated from the crime in Chicago than it is in Nola. With the layout and sizes of the two cities
One thing that quickly became very apparant to me when I began to frequent NOLA back in the 1970s was how the very well healed that lived on St. Charles had the ghetto on the very next street behind them. The phenomenon was a head-scratcher for me at the time. No other city in 20th Century America was like this.

They took a poll to reflect the obvious, but nothing will change...
The voter base in NOLA is so deranged, they will probably say they feel less safe due to the bad/mean cops!

Anyone with means should move out of the city. It’s a shithole in a death spiral.

The murder rate in 1994 was almost double what it was in 2020. Murders are up 50% so far in 2021, so they’re on pace roughly to split the difference

Rape and property crimes up too.

Population in 1994 was 484,000. Murders were 421. It's unacceptable where we are and where we are heading, but it still isn't close to where we were in early to mid 90s. The Magnolia, Iberville, St. Bernard, St. Thomas, Fisher, Desire projects were all war zones. The carjackings have made it seem a lot worse but it isn't in early to mid 90s territory. It's still very bad.

they will re-elect Teedy

Anybody actually worth a shite will either avoid that election every cycle like the plague, or simply won't have any significant money backing.

They don't blame LaToya for crime getting worse. They blame... whitey, economics, lack of midnight basketball, etc.

I dislike her but it really isn’t her fault. Already bad crime cities are all spilling over like this. It’s not unique to New Orleans or Latoya Cantrell. There are many other things she can take the bullet for tho

I wonder if these cities have anything in common in regards to their leadership.

The same shitheads exist in suburban areas and cause the same issues. They just don't exist in the volume as urban areas.

There are complex socio-economic issues that should be understood and addressed, but instead people stand back and classify everyone by one feature and move on.

When I see a kid get arrested at 15 for a carjacking and has actual other charges against him, drugs, weapons, assault. It's because the judges and da, all democrats, don't punish these people and they are free to terrorize the city.

In other cities, they are dropping charges on rioters, for legit arson, theft, vandalism. You are allowing it.

And the hateful cop rhetoric has seen the cities be woefully understaffed.

Stop playing dumb.

You know how I know you are making up shite. A 15 year old won't have an accessible record, especially one that the press can publish.

It used to start getting rough a block north of St. Charles from Napoleon to the Overpass.
