One thing that quickly became very apparant to me when I began to frequent NOLA back in the 1970s was how the very well healed that lived on St. Charles had the ghetto on the very next street behind them

What, between Louisiana and Jackson? Everywhere else along St. Charles is bunny bread white

You can visit a different part of the city and experience a completely different vibe, and it's just the right size to not have to drive far to experience each one. Just stay out of Central City, St. Bernard, Lower 9th Ward. New Orleans East doesn't exist.

How much did you pay him, or did you just cover his car note for a few months?

That's always been pretty lame

Surely you're not talking about baseball. Also, there are no sports in elementary schools.

Not "Man right 'Chea"? I really think they're the same songs, ha

Fairly often, but not as much as I'd like. I catch up during the summers. I read aloud to my fiancée almost every night before we go to bed. But I have a stack of books I intend to read on my own. Currently we are reading The Infinite by Nicholas Mainieri (Pawl's son, had him as a prof in college). I'm currently reading The Accidental City: Improvising New Orleans, and listening to Infinite Jest on audiobook on my 30 minute commute to and from work.

What do you like to read?
These jokers on NFHS don't have that game On Demand
This South Terrebonne v North Vermillion game has been awesome

What a name. Even if he isn't playing, makes the All-Name Team
That was a good game to watch, and the talk around JL Is real. His backhand play was pretty special, considering he shifted to his left two steps before the ball was hit. Had the presence of mind not to try and unload a rocket and risk a wild throw, but use the term infield as a bounce pass. Hit the ball hard oppo in his last AB on an outside pitch.

That's borderline criminal

It's mispronounced on the commercial NFHS plays too...
St. Pierre from Lutcher throws an 11k no-hitter to beat Brusly and move on to the championship game. What a feeling that must be.

I've watched two games, they are SOOOO bad. Unsure of outs, calling players wrong names, zero information about how teams did during the season, no pitch identification. These guys are doing the bare minimum and can't even make it entertaining.

Guy calling the Opelousas Catholic game mispronounced Tony Chachere.
The NFHS announcers need to take course on Louisiana surnames and places before calling these games, lol
I don't see what's so special about Trantino or Wes Anderson movies. I liked Kill Bill 1 & 2 and Reservoir Dogs...the rest???? Meh

Skip Laffy all together and eat at Spahrs on Hwy 90, get you a Bloody Mary to go, then go a little bit further down 90, get off on Hwy 24 and load up at Bougerious Meat Market in Thibodaux. They have everything you could possibly want from jerkey, boudin, hogs head cheese, etc. Turn around and head back to NOLA, save yourself about 5 hours.

This. Do they raise the catfish behind the store?

I'm way past this possibility, but can you become a doctor in the Army? Or do you have to get into it from med school, or have a med school undergrad track? Sorry for the ignorance.
Anyone stream the games at Sulpher? Like Catlick has their own YouTube channel, will they be able to stream their games? I know Crescent City Sports has had the Catholic Games all season, will they be able to stream from Sulpher? Or is there some sort of contract thing that will prevent them?
