In a rural parish coroner is a pretty sweet deal. You might go weeks or months without having to do anything. In a parish like St Tammany I imagine it's close to a full time job. No competent doc wants to give up a lucrative practice for that.

I dont know the guy or live near St Tammany. Was he found guilty of anything? Or was it just unfounded accusations? Why was he charged but then never taken to trial? Lack of evidence maybe? Was this a case of a girlfriend falsely accusing the boyfriend? I have a hard time believing that the DA failed to take the case to trial, in a timely manner, if he had solid evidence in the case.

And to me this is the maddening part of people that want to bitch about everything political. They can sit there and go on for hours with their Biden/Trump bitches, or for the big named people in Congress that represent other States; yet they no nothing about the local mayors, city council, school board...
Then again, why should I expect them to pay attention to offices that will actually affect them when they can't even pay attention to the big races that actually make headlines. Looking at the election results from this weekend, you still have people casting votes for Presidential candidates that already dropped out of the race
