Which one of you jokesters works in the Mayor’s office?
NEW ORLEANS — The Mayor's Office of Youth and Families announced on May 4 the launch of the Guaranteed Income Program through a $500,000 grant from Mayors for a Guaranteed Income.
The City of New Orleans is the first recipient of the MGI grant, which seeks to prioritize incomes for young people.
The program is set to serve 125 young people between the ages of 16-24, who are detached from work and school. They will receive a monthly stipend of $350 for 10 months.

No point in stealing a car if you can’t afford to the gas for it…
“The program is said to support Mayor Cantrell's vision of supporting at risk youth.”

They'll double down when this doesn't work.

Excellent. I’ve been calling for more programs and New Orleans answers the call. Looking forward to seeing these youth change their lives for the better.

Making up for the DAs taking away their guaranteed housing and meal opportunities.

Additionally, New Orleans needs to ratchet up Lester Earl’s slam poetry sessions to reach out to more youths.

Hopefully it’ll help keep these young Kings and Queens out of trouble

Something about working hard for pay.
Self worth, purpose, and pride.
May this yield all above and more!

How about give it to the kids that go to school and work instead?

Progressive liberal stupid. And that's one helluva amount of stupid.

They should have an entry for employer and school on the application, so they deny a bunch of them.

This is a creative way to waste $500,000

Let's be real. No yutes are going to see a dime of this. 100% will be allocated for "studies" and "administration" that just happens to be related to your local politicians.

Any chance we could attach a gun shot residue test to this?

I think every city in the country is doing something similar.
Some are giving money to single parents, some to young people, some to randoms, some to residents of certain zip codes.
The requirements are varied enough that tracking the total amount spent on these free giveaways is going to be tough, and the data can be selectively combined to show these programs have a positive impact.
It’s all a sham to distribute stimulus money, and then to keep the money flowing for years to come.

Even if they do, they're gonna do stupid shite like buy shoes and rims. You know, the stuff they're gonna get robbed over leading to more murders.
