I believe they are currently triggered at 4mph over

I recall a ton of complaints about that change from 6(?) over and the mayor claiming she changed it without notifying anyone for safety reasons

I have always been curious why people will drop how much they spent on something like that matters?

Even if you spent $50,000, it wouldn’t make a better reason of why or why not to get a ticket

They are all school zone at this point and I’m pretty sure it’s 4

It was very widely publicized when it changed (well, shortly after it did)

That’s a school zone ticket. You should have seen the flashing yellow lights.

Don't do this. Don't go to any links included in the letter and don't respond to the letter in any way. Ignore it, and if they ever send it to collections simply dispute it through the credit agency.

Fine don't come back, but if you do you will get booted for the unpaid ticket if you park on the street.

Until I got used to where the cameras were, and where the mobile units usually set up, I racked up more than a few tickets. Eventually, it was cheaper to change my license plate than to pay them. I am taxed enough already thanks.

There are definitely signs in that area showing the school zone speed limits.

I’ve also never paid one of these tickets before.

I’ve never heard of anyone being successful in that little traffic camera circus court they have.

i got one of these recently, which i also did not pay. good to know about the booting thing, i'll avoid parking on the streets. i rarely travel anywhere except to and from work anyways, but i do go downtown on occasion, so i will make sure to park in paid lots. i absolutely refuse to pay a ticket from a camera. I have a bunch of them and park just off the street, just off a very busy avenue, and have never been booted. I don’t worry about it whatsoever , even when I park downtown, whd, fq, etc

So this is a thread this morning on OT related to schools.

New Orleans school bus carrying students struck by bullets in Central City

I grew up a lot of years in New Orleans and commuted across Algiers ferry and down canal street on the bus right past Warren Eastern high School. I would often cross the Ferry at night. In 4 years, I never witnessed any incident that caused concern for safety. I would not consider doing that today.
But at least the school zones are safe from speeders who barrel through at 5 miles over the limit. Its a start.

NOLA will come for you harder than will for armed car jackets. Cut your losses, pay it and don't go back.

You don't HAVE to pay these tickets.
At the very very very worst they will put your license on a boot list, BUT a new plate gives you a clean slate.
The state has like 100 different plates.
People who pay these tickets are fricking idiots who enable this shite.

Unless you got the ticket by registered mail and signed for it you didn’t get it. You can’t pay a ticket you didn’t get..

Think of it as a kind donation to the city of New Orleans.
