A 36-year-old man told police he was sitting in his vehicle near Burgundy and Toulouse streets when an ex-boyfriend approached and started an argument, according to NOPD. The ex-boyfriend began hitting the vehicle's windows and doors, after which he opened one of the doors and cut the victim with a knife, police said. The victim was taken to an area hospital by a private vehicle.
sounds sassy

mention on the 10% raise and the shuffling announced this week with the NOPD or any good news from the city.
Trying to save face after his hiring freeze. The state unit leaving town. And getting raked over the coals for his wasted 2mm on statues that could have paid for fourty new officers.
It's an empty promise. And nothing but an attempt to save face

Who the frick is dumb enough to go into the French Quarter at 6 pm?!

Landrieu has really dropped the ball by not taking the violent crime situation more seriously. The shootings on I10 in the east in particular are an embarrassment. He should have that area swarming with law enforcement. The statue ordeal is over, time to get back to more important matters.

Why do they never disclose descriptions of the suspects now?
What are you talking about? Did you even read the article?
quote:
NOPD described the suspect as a black man with a thin build and unshaven face, standing about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt, blue jeans and blue sneakers.

You know how many 'easy marks' that are black victims that are targeted across the city every damn day? You just don't hear about them..... these animals don't care if the person is black or white as long as they look defenseless and have a few dollars in their pocket
Right, but there is a reason these animals are committing more and more crime in the FQ/CBD. Victims are much more likely to have $$$ and not pose a threat.

Just stop. Wtf turn it into something racial? You're probably one of those that harp about the SJW making everything racial and turn around and do the same shite.... fricking typical

agreed.
with that said, on the 4th, i was out riding my bike around the qtr, and it was packed with patrol; every corner there were 2-4 cops, spread out in parts beyond bourbon - it was nice to see

Anyone else notice that the usual suspects always clear out for red dress run and running of the bulls?

It kind of goes hand and hand
Just like when I see a pack of young black males walking around French Quarter I assume they are up to no good and looking to rob someone.

I'm starting an closed personal protection business for NOLA tourists, like the kind they have in Port Au Prince.
Seriously, somebody should take this idea and run with it. Thank me after you make your first million in the first 30 days.

true, probs because those events start at like ~8am and nearly everyone is passed out before nightfall

As your typical tourist.... I can say I won't be back to NOLA anytime soon. Charleston instead, the cops don't play. Go kill each other in your own neighborhoods, but when you bring that stuff into the tourist areas they will pretty much shoot you on site and plant a gun on you. google it.
Savannah is on thin ice, but still better than French Quarter NOLA.
I feel sorry for all of the good people who are going to suffer when the millions of people like me quit coming. With oil prices slumping, oil exploration and new wells losing demand, tourism ending is going to kill the city.
