I always make a cake right when they move in. Then invite them over after they get settled.

I don't like the whole getting a gift for new neighbor thing. It seems like if you get them a gift you have the "upper hand" and vice versa. I think the best thing to do is introduce yourself & family and let them know if they need anything let you know.

Well, the wife loves rooting for Vanderbilt football. It's kinda funny as the guy isn't into sports. He went to Cal Tech and MIT respectively. Would LSU vs Wisconsin be a good introduction to football?

Start a band and practice in the garage at night or buy a 2-stroke dirt bike and rev it up on Saturday mornings. If he's cool, he'll come hang out
