Yeah, no one is doing this. Good effort though on the part of Louisiana politicians. Between this and the porn law, they clearly have a desire to exert as much governmental control over the personal lives of their citizens as they can.

Louisiana is the worst of all political worlds: fiscally liberal and socially conservative.

Your response wasn't at me, as I haven't posted yet, but I'm Conservative and this is overreaching like a mofo. The state, just like the fed gov, has no right to tell me how to raise a kid.

The wording pretty much requires it. Whether or not 'social media' sites comply is a different story.

The porn one is already in court and will get slapped down. Not sure what chicken will do.

We've had several minor post on this board with no issue in the past, but this would mean everyone needs to prove they aren't; as opposed to just checking a box.

More government regulation

I’m with you on government regulation in overreach but I think social media is the most harmful thing kids are exposed to in this day.

Land of the free. Let parents parent their own children. If you don’t want your kid to use social media, don’t let him or her. But don’t tell your neighbor they can’t do it.

There’s no good way for social media companies to comply with this, which is by design. It’s a soft ban. Companies will self censor to avoid fines. Prepare for all Louisiana citizens to get blocked

Social media will fight this. No one initially fought the porn bill and now other states are enacting their own similar laws. Social media companies can’t let that happen. They make too much money off of getting kids hooked on their products.

The Government doesn't need to parent people's children despite what your opinions are about social media

Oh look. Another puritan pussy doing everything but his job. How about getting busy stopping communism and let us worry about our own kids?

Seems a bit much.

But I did come across this girls profile that said she was 27, not 31. She made a Facebook at 13 and can’t change the age back.

Since I know my math I went instantly into that meme and figured she was acting as a 17 year old as a 13 year old when she first signed up for her socials.

So yeah….

So who's going to police this law? These kidd can code, know every trick of smart phones.

Why do politicians try and legislate morality? Why not a law that says no smartphones for anyone under 18? They make it 21 for alcohol.
