i also dont see the problem if it was never run

the stores jack up prices on then 20-30% when storms are on the way so why arent you made about the stores doing that vs a few people smart enough to use the choice to return it.

not everyone has to room to store them or the money to buy them and not use it

should be no problem at all on the return. As long as it was not taken out the box and used and follows the company's return policy. You could even make a few bucks from the deal charging a restocking fee

Why do y'all feel entitled to a return?

That's nothing. I'm an insurance adjuster and I knew people living in $700K houses after Hurricane Wilma in 2005 that were hitting up FEMA for FREE generators then turning around and selling them after using them for less than a week.

Was in a hardware store erlier today that had a sign on the door that read: "generators cannot be returned or exchanged-no exceptions."

Our central AC unit went out when it was 105 one summer, I had to replace it but it took a few days.

I bought a window unit at Walmart, used it for two days then took it back for a full refund.

I spend $1,000 a month there so I figured they could loan me an AC for a few days.

5 camping/tailgating chairs
2 canopies
Tent stakes
A charcoal grill
3 air mattresses
2 air pumps

It was July 5th...

We own a children's clothing store. We carry a lot of higher end Easter dresses. We've had people come in and buy the dresses on Friday and return them on Monday. Why? Pictures, weddings, funerals, or whatever the event was for the weekend. shite you not.

Seems like they'd just have generator rental businesses out there?

I bought a window unit ac. It’s in the box in a dry area. If we lose power I will use it (already had generator). If we don’t use it, going back Monday.

Agreed. If I owned a store that sold generators it would be one of the above

and thats why you cant compete with Walmart. Ive returned food there before (it was actually for legit reasons) and all they do is toss it in the trash and refund you.
