and in my partying days of the late 80's early 90's as longs as you avoided heavy machinery the drugs didn't kill anyone
That changed when the "Oxy" pain pills hit the market

I get that every person is biologically different (as evidenced by my aforementioned experiences), but I don't get why kratom is being outlawed. My buddies that gave me the kratoms were big fans but were still fully functional while doing it, they were just feeling good.

I don’t know anything about it. Kratom just seems super trashy, just as a very casual observation. Maybe because it’s just prevalent in the trashier gas stations

Any actual links?

There are official links on this thread about two deaths. Seems to be only rumors about any additional.

Sorry for the loss of life for those kids and their families, but anyone taking drugs like that doesn’t get that much sympathy from me. You are choosing to put a horrid substance in your body.

We all know college aged kids are known for rational thought and logical decision making abilities.

Also, can you help me understand how you are sorry, invoking God, and not feeling any sympathy? Seems contradictory to me.

Agreed 100%, which is why I had no interest in trying it until it was offered to me by a younger group of associates that is pretty intelligent, successful, and generally conservative. The younger folk drink quite a bit less and smoke cigarettes a LOT less than the 35+ crowd did in their 20's, so I think that they're looking for a replacement. Kratom definitely has a trashy redneck reputation, but I highly suspect that it's much safer long-term than booze or cigs. But again, it does nothing for me, so even if I can still legally buy kratom, I'll stick with booze + Zyn/vape + the occasional harder stuff.

The gas station stuff isn’t really kratom. It’s synthetic stuff like synthetic weed. Regular kratom is not bad for you and is like a tea

There’s ZERO chance they overdosed on straight kratom. It was synthetic or had some other drug in it

I should have clarified my statement. I'm well aware that they didn't OD on proper kratom. I was trying to say that kratom is mild enough that it should be legal, and that if it WERE legal, then these young folk wouldn't have bought the shady/stepped on shite that killed them.

Yes, and no intelligent & responsible Kratom user would ever purchase from a gas station or head shop.
That being said, I have found local shops that carry very high quality Kratom and have an experienced staff that can guide you through process of choosing the proper strain but they are ridiculously expensive compared to the online Kratom distributors that can provide the same responsible guidance.

Completely different type of fentanyl, it isn’t used in the crystal form in the medical field outside of a laboratory. It’s way too dangerous that is some bootleg Chinese bs

A microscopic amount added to a bag of weed, blow, heroin, meth, remanufactured xanax / pain pills turns their offerings into super weed, blow, heroin, meth, xanax / pain pills that is exponentially addictive and ensures them a never ending market. The fentanyl isn't added in a laboratory setting using proper dilution rates. It's simply a couple of Chinese or Mexican fentanyl pills crushed and tossed into the baggie and shaken up.

I'm sorry, but this this sounds...absolutely retarded.

If I have a cup of coffee, and add a couple of those caffeine espresso shots in it...sure that's super coffee.

If I add a sleeping pill to it, it wouldn't magically make it "super coffee."

It makes zero sense. Honestly, your stories sound like razors in candy or the kid who took acid and thought he was a glass of orange juice.

I mean even the application method doesn't make sense. How would you apply a tiny amount of fentanyl to a bag of weed.

And why!?

If they are already coming to you for weed, they aren't gonna come faster because you killed them all.

I mean the Chinese actively polluting the drug supply somehow makes more sense than that.

I have no idea if it's true or not, but I read in an article somewhere years ago that when there are a newsworthy number of OD deaths in a short time, users actively seek out the dealer involved, on the theory that he's got the good shite

If it is true, I'm guessing they're too stupid to think of the difference between higher potency and lethal contaminants.

Maybe we shouldn’t keep excusing their awful decision making with stupid sayings like “Boys will be boys” and college ages “kids”. They are adults and know that drugs are harmful. Stop acting like a 18 year old doesn’t know drugs can kill you.

I feel for their families. Loss of life, no matter how stupid the reason is always a sad moment. They will get their judgment from their God and why does God mean sympathy? I have sympathy for the families, not a bunch of adults in college choosing to take knowingly dangerous drugs.

If it turns out that one of them was force fed the drugs against their will, that is different. If they willingly took them, sympathy is for their family not for the morons that got themselves killed by doing something they knew posed extreme risks.

Maybe for smack-heads, but people are extrapolating that to other stuff that makes ZERO sense. You wouldn't seek out a dimebag from Popeye because it killed little Bobby down the street.

Nobody looking to do a little yayo wants to be sick and that's exactly what tainted yayo does to a person.

Please stop.
You obviously have never been an addict or been involved with an addict or been a parent to a normal naive impulsive teenager
Your self righteous posts aren't helping to solve the problem
I agree with you that addicts behavior doesn't make sense to rational & responsible folks like us but the fact remains that addicts and stupid irresponsible teenagers exist and we're trying to find a way to keep them alive

You say this.

quote:

The 15 year old was going to smoke her first joint for her birthday The 16 year old scored a bag of weed from a local Mexican gang banger that, unknown to the girls, was mixed with crushed fentanyl pills. The 16 year old ended up with a joint with hardly any fentanyl and survived Her friend ended up with a joint with enough fentanyl to kill the entire New Orleans Saints offensive line She took one puff, coughed a few times and died in front of her best friend.

Then you say this.

quote:

2 mg The amount of fentanyl that would be fatal to most of us Half this amount would be fatal to many teenagers

So you are telling me that somehow, out of this bag of the Mexican gangbanger super weed, the 15 year old got, what...12mg of fentanyl, no one noticed anything, and then "one puff" (does it even work if burned?)

Because that sounds like convenient, hyperbolic, sensationalist bullshite designed to terrify people, instead of being, you know...true.

Nothing adds up.
