If that’s the case, might as well name the new Calcasieu River bridge after him also.

State Rep. Michael Echols believes naming the bridge after Trump could help secure his support and funding for the project.

This is really pathetic.

Seems pretty smart to me. Echols knows the President loves having his ego stroked.

Now, if you want argue that the fact it would be named after him automatically by itself gives a greater chance of it being funded is pathetic, well…I couldn’t argue with that. Politicians are typically whores who crave constant praise. That’s not exclusive to just the current President.

The bridge would not be complete without Golden arches.

I like the angle, would be nice if they could get him to fast track it as well.

Whether you like him or not, if you put his name on something you get his attention," Echols said while presenting his bill to the House Transportation Committee March 10. "He likes to build big things. This is a big bridge."

Hell yeah this is a great idea. Stroke his ego a little bit if it helps get funding.

BTR is lazy. Just make the official names the Old Bridge, the I10 bridge, and the new bridge.

They could name it the Adolph Hitler von Jewsarebad Bridge and I would be ecstatic if it meant it actually got completed in the next decade.
