Why can't you don't yourself? Changing brake pads isn't difficult.

Man, you are not getting a brake job for $300.

I think you are comparing per wheel or per axle cost

During the oil crash of 2015 I decided to buy a floor jack and jack stands to start doing my own brake jobs. I ended up spending the same amount of money on tools and pads that I would’ve spent had I gotten someone to change my brakes.

Since then I’ve saved well over a thousand bucks among family vehicles and it’s easy as shite.

How hard is it to change rotors on your own?

depending on the vehicle it could be really simple and easy or it could be a real bitch.

Check out YouTube to find out.

I do mine. They're really simple.

I changed my pads and rotors for less than $200 and that's ceramic pads.

Even changing the calipers is an easy job

It is on the vehicles I've had. After I did it once I decided I'd always do it.

It literally takes minimal effort to change breaks. My 73 year old dad can change brakes in about 30 minutes on a bad day.

The major reason everything’s price has gone through the roof is Bidenomics. This dude has destroyed our country and our economy. I go to Sam’s once a month. Since Pedo Joe has taken office my average bill has gone up about 250.00 a month.
By the way it’s not hard to change break pads. YouTube is your friend. But if you truly don’t feel comfortable changing them it’s probably a good idea to let someone else do it. One other thing. If you are going to let a shop do the work you need to watch youtube about when you should change your rotors on the car. Because a lot of shops will tell you that you need new rotors. Rotors only need to be replaced when either the thickness gets to a certain point, grooves in the rotors (that can’t be machined back smooth). That’s where the thickness part comes in. Or if they are warped

frick man! I'll keep doing them on my own. If you have a setup for doing it, it's a 15-20 minute job and not very intensive.

Brakes and rotors should be 250.00 - 300.00 per axle.

Prolly didn’t need rotors.

Price controls...great idea, comrade.

Or people can charge what they want and get bitch slapped by the invisible hand.

That's about right. Paid $800 for mine in July.

I got front disc pads changed, front struts, rear shocks and a oil change at my dealership a couple years back for $389. They are robbing y’all.

Yikes. Go to Autozone/Advanced/O'Reilly's and buy that shite yourself.

It's a shame more men can't do basic maintenance on their own vehicles. It's not hard. As stated 50 times already in this thread, there is a video how-to for every vehicle known to man on youtube. Do yourself a favor and pick up a set of tools and do it yourself next time.

I’ve never had to replace rotors. Do yall just brake super fricking hard and give yourself whiplash at every intersection?

Also I change my own brakes and hate ceramic as they squeak when wet or cold

Disc brakes are one of the easiest DYI vehicle repair jobs there is.

Grows some balls and do it yourself Nancy.

Rotors and pads for about $200-300.
