Neighbors a few houses down have a very frayed and worn out American flag out front

What is the OT's thoughts on frayed flags being flown?
I've thought about anonymously giving them one of the extra flags I have (I'm not a weirdo that collects flags, long story about why I have an extra) and leaving a note on who to call to properly dispose of the old flag. It looks pretty bad. Closest image I can find without actually snapping theirs is this:
Flag is ripping apart between each stripe, faded to hell, and frayed at the ends completely. At the end of the day, I'm more than likely not going to do anything about what my neighbors have hanging out front. I was mostly curious if anyone in the OT has ever gotten themselves involved in a situation like this.

They're just giving proof through the night that our flag is still there

I'd go ahead with what you're thinking. Free new flag and how to dispose of the old one is a good deal for the neighbors.

No I haven’t been involved with a situation like this because I mind my own business. That’s not really a big deal anyway.

Stand up for old glory baw. Demand that the flag be retired and replaced.
These colors don’t run!

They’ll probably change it once Biden is out of office. It’s their way of showing that America is in distress.

Put one of your extra flags in their mailbox or on their doorstep. That's it.

I would stop by, compliment them on their patriotism and offer a replacement and to take care of disposing of theirs for them.
An alternative (which may or may not have been done by a younger version of myself years ago) is to go at night and replace it without them knowing. In today's age of doorbell cams, security cams, etc it might not be a good idea.

I am mighty proud of my ragged old flag

It kind of is since if you display the flag you should show it the respect it deserves and follow flag etiquette.

None of your business.

Get the local Boy Scout troop involved.

Or a 4th degree Knights of Columbus assembly if you are Catholic(or even if not) . We have a committee at ours that deals with flag retirements and the promotion of patriotism.

My hood flies the Rebel flag only.

Some senior citizen patriot would probably very much appreciate the offer of replacing and disposing of the old flag (as absence of energy/ability is probably the reason for it's poor state)
Some middle aged salt life dude likely would not (as being lazy is probably the reason)

The one here at work was in worse condition before it got replaced. The mechanical gizmo/pulley at the top froze and they had to rent a boom lift to fix it. It was the middle of winter, no one really wanted to do it.

This is the right answer. I replace my flag twice a year, but buy them 4-6 at a time for just this purpose. Generally see the new not torn or faded flag flying the next day.
