Doesn't sound like he is pretty good friends with you. Especially if your yard was messed up from the hurricane cleanup because he used it for a dumpster instead of his yard.

What yard is pretty hard right now? In Louisiana???

he says the contractor will fix any ruts.

I guarantee the contractor hasn't said this. As mentioned earlier IF the contractor does he will simply throw some fill dirt in the ruts.

Other mentioned utilities, do you have a sprinkler system? If so, that will be toast as well.

Meanwhile at the ranch here in LC it has been raining for an hour. You know what’s harder than your dirt, his concrete.

Sounds like you've already decided to let him do this.

Nah, I don't really think he'd agree to do that anyway.

IF the contractor does "fix it" it will be a hurry up job that you will end up having to take care of anyway.

would it be possible to lay down something for them to drive on? We had work done here and they laid down heavy mats to drive on.

If the yard is dry enough, let him use it. Drive on it yourself to test.

Frick him. Tell him to hire a pump truck and pump it in from the street.

I would never ask my neighbor to use their yard unless I could fully pay for whatever damages would be done out of my own pocket. Yeah, I'd just never ask.

Yeah, the OP's Silveraydo weighs the same as a loaded concrete truck.

I would tell him to use his own driveway since there is only a "possibility" it could get cracked

There are other options besides driving a truck down his driveway. Tell him no way. Rent a bobcat and use his own driveway

No way would I run 3-4 FULL concrete trucks through my yard. God help you if you have any sewer or water lines under where they would run.

Tell the cheap bastard to get a pump truck.

He needs to just wait until the equipment is available to do it the right way. I would never impose something like that on either of my neighbors just because I want the job done sooner. It's my driveway and my problem, and if I have to wait a while longer then thats what I do.
