Samsungs are way better. More capabilities and more user friendly. It's unfortunate Apple refuses to make Android groip text messages compatible with their software and vice versa.

Samsung.

Have a Galaxy6 that's almost 3 years old and the iPhone is just catching up to it.

Yes. Sounds like all of you likely have shitty phones

The long gifs work perfectly fine if they are sent to group texts with only iPhone users.

Samsung can't turn off the Trump Tweedle aka Presidential Alerts.

I'm okay with that.

Group Me App as well as the FB Messenger(this app handles data the best for shite like videos and such) work well.

I use them for little league softball and parents share videos and pics all the time.

Standard Group Texts would blow the frick up.

It mostly affects long gifs. Standard length gifs work fine.

lol, what? It is very easy to switch from an iPhone to an Android.

Hey OP, if you like freedom, get an Android.

If you want your hand held in every decision you make and the inability to get the most out of your device, get an iPhone.

What are you getting out of an android? What are these customization preferences that everyone talks about?

I need my phone to call people, text people, allow me to take pictures, allow me to use an internet browser, allow me to use a map, and a few other apps (bank, streaming apps, weather, etc...).

What else are you really doing on your phone?

If you've always had an iPhone, you will dislike anything else at the beginning. The question is whether you have the fortitude to stick it out long enough to realize the benefits of being anything but a sheep.

Samsungs can't do that with iPhones. You'd think someone sounding as condescending as you are would know that.

I currently have both. I prefer android for everyday use.

I had an android from the get go. Got an iphone about a year ago.
While Apple prides itself in being so user friendly, i'm constantly having to ask my wife, who has had an iphone from the get go, how to do this and that, things that should be simple enough to figure out without help.
I never had to google how to do something on my android, like i do with this iphone.
I had a samsung 7 and all of my iphone friends were amazed at how much better my pictures and videos looked compared to their iphone7's.

I will say that what i do like about the iphone over the android is the texting. the keyboard is bigger, and i have fat fingers, and the predicitve/autocorrect is better than android, at least it seems that way. What irritates the shite out of me is how i can't move the cursor when i'm typing on the iphone. Could do that with the android.

all in all, it makes no difference which one you have. Get whichever one is cheaper, or free.
I could skype from my android to my wifes iphone just as easy as i can facetime her now with my iphone. If more of your friends and family that you share vidoes with have iphone, then i'd lean that way. That is literally the only advantage to me, group texting with other iphone users and being able to send videos that don't look like they were filmed with a potato.
