I'm trying to gather some information on why people use uber. It's for a research project.
Why do you use uber? More affordable compared to a taxi? Feel safer? ect. And what city do you use it in? TIA

It's nice, because it's like taking a taxi, but you don't have to smell like you took a taxi.

I use uber because they get to me quicker when I'm junked up on heroin and alcohol.

I can rate them so they don't give the same frick you attitude as can drivers.
My credit card is stored and no money changes hands.
I can request one on a very accurate app.

I use Uber so I can start threads on the OT.
Don't even go anywhere. Just tell the driver to make the block and drop me back where we left.

Exactly my position as well. Have never used a taxi to bar hop in Baton Rouge in 20 years. I've used Uber 8 times since they started.

The app and the money thing without a doubt.
The app: I don't have to call and talk to a dispatcher. Just click. I can see how long until they arrive and where they are. I can text the driver direct to give pick up instructions. It alerts me when they are out front.
Money: I don't have to get into an argument with the guy about his credit card machine being "broken." I don't have to sweat the tip. I can rate the driver if he is exceptional or bad.

Atlanta: Easier to get, faster, generally as nice as or nicer than taxi, sometimes more affordable, drivers are pleasant, well run company that does fun and interesting promotions, takes the stress out of using hired transportation.

100% convenience. Pull up the app on my phone. Request a car with just a couple of clicks.. It tells me how long it will take. The driver can see my picture so no douchebag can steal the car like they do with a taxi. Driver takes me where I want to go. Payment and tip are handled automatically through the app, so I never have to even get out my wallet.

Because you don't have to call a taxi company and hope a cab shows up 1 hour later. That number would be 2 hours if you are in tigerland (if you are lucky it even shows).
