Nope, according to Obama, he got everyone out like he promised he would. (But now he is saying it wasn't him). The fricking guy just cant help himself!
The Obama administration's proposal was to seriously draw down troops so that he could officially declare an end to the war in Iraq, but to still leave a small contingent of forces there. But Iraq wouldn't agree to a new status of forces agreement.
What channel and package will the SEC Network be on Cox?

The DirecTV CEO already stated publicly last week that they had agreed on a price for the SEC Network with ESPN. After that, it's all just a formality.

100% convenience. Pull up the app on my phone. Request a car with just a couple of clicks.. It tells me how long it will take. The driver can see my picture so no douchebag can steal the car like they do with a taxi. Driver takes me where I want to go. Payment and tip are handled automatically through the app, so I never have to even get out my wallet.

So somebody please explian tip ediquate when it comes to housekeeping. Do you do it? If so how much? Is it performance based? Is it based on a 0-10 scale. With 0 being they never showed or showed only long enough to steal your watch and camera. and 10 being a happy ending while getting your towels bleached??
I usually tip like $2 or $3 a day. I leave it in envelope with "housekeeping tip" or "for housekeeping" written on it. One hotel in Canada that I stayed at actually provided envelopes meant for tipping the maids.
I guess it's not really performance based because you leave the tip in the room before they actually clean it, so if they do a bad job, it's not like you can get it back. Maybe I'm just good at picking quality hotels or something, or maybe tipping really works, but I've never had a problem with housekeeping to make me wish I hadn't tipped.

Tip daily, usually $2 and change in pocket. If you wait until of stay to tip, maid doesn't know that she will get tipped and usually doesn't go the extra mile.
Not just that, but there's no guarantee that it'll be the same maid every day, so if you only tip at the end of your stay, it all goes to just one maid when there may have been others that cleaned your room during your stay.

And as a bigger picture issue, what the frick is so special about the cab industry that necessitates such tight regulation and protectionism?
It's the system that the cab companies have fought for and built up over a long period of time specifically to discourage competition. They employ the common tactic of claiming that it's about safety, but really, their aim has always been to create a barrier to entry for potential competitors.

Twice this week I went to go look at different trucks only to find out that the owner of the dealership took them to a meeting or out of town on vacation. Come to find out, they used them as everyday vehicles. I mean, if you're gonna have a dealership and cars for sale, at least have the damn things there.
I don't know man, I've never had this problem.

Next is pricing. Why do they think they can get away pricing a truck at $18k when there are 5 more of the exact same trucks in town priced around $12k? I can ask again, do they even want to sell the damn things?
So just buy the ones for $12k. The dealer is going to try to get the highest price he can, obviously.

My gut says 2011, but I didn't really have the understanding or context back in 2003 to really make a fair comparison.

re: Pandora one: WYBI
Posted by GoGeauxGaux on 7/21/14 at 10:08 am to saltybulldog
I've never heard of Pandora One. Is that just what Pandora calls its premium service where you pay to get rid of the advertisements? That's not worth it to me.
I have spotify, and I haven't seen anything else out there that would make me consider changing. It's very rare that spotify doesn't have something that I want, and I can listen to what I want, when I want, unlike the Pandora's radio style set up.
Eventually, if Amazon Prime Music expands its selection enough, I'd consider dropping spotify since I already pay for Prime to get the free shipping and video services.

re: Can Mac bolt after 2 years?
Posted by GoGeauxGaux on 7/18/14 at 5:24 pm to Dubz17
Assuming he comes to LSU and doesn't go JUCO (I'm not predicting that he will go JUCO, just giving the most accurate answer according to the rules), then he'll have to play 3 years.
Players at 4 year colleges have to either finish their junior year or be 21 years old before they're eligible for the draft again. Marshall is 18 now, so he won't be old enough to leave after just two years.

re: Mac Marshall did not sign with the Astros; Will play for Tigers
Posted by GoGeauxGaux on 7/18/14 at 5:19 pm to GoGeauxGaux
The guy I feel the most bad for in all this is Jacob Nix. It seemed like he had sure thing deal for $1.5 Mil, but then it evaporated into thin air.
Aiken at least still had a reasonable choice in front of him. I think what the Astros did to him was unfair, but at the end of the day, $5 million bucks is every bit as life changing of an amount of money for an 18 year old kid as $6.5 million. I mean, good for him for not being bullied, but I wouldn't have felt bad for him if had signed it.

I don't know why everyone is so excited about a 21st round pick
He would have gone significantly higher than that if he hadn't been telling everyone before hand that he was set on going to LSU. Had Houston gotten Aiken to accept a deal for $5 Mil, they would have tried to use the savings to sign Marshall for $1.5 Mil, which is the same as they were offering their 5th round pick, Nix. That's proof enough that the Astros at least thought far more highly of Marshall than as just a "21st round pick".
re: Passport Question: Wife Maiden Name
Posted by GoGeauxGaux on 7/17/14 at 1:18 pm to Hoyt
You should call the airline immediately and see if they will change the last name on the ticket to match the passport. They say they can't change the name on the ticket because you're absolutely not allowed to transfer your ticket to another person, but they can make exceptions to that policy.
Depending on what you mean by "a few weeks" you might have time to get the passport changed, but I'd definitely be worried that it wouldn't be done in time. Granted, in my experience, passport renewals don't take as long as they claim they will, but I could just be lucky. I don't think there is any way to guarantee you'll get it back in time, especially if the trip is within a month. I'd definitely call the airline first, and even if there a charge for the name change, it's better than having your whole trip ruined.

re: LSU is now tobacco free. Thoughts?
Posted by GoGeauxGaux on 7/16/14 at 3:05 pm to The Dudes Rug
They'll never be able to really enforce it, but if they can use it to help keep people from smoking near the entrances/vents of buildings, then that would be great. If someone wants to go smoke in the middle of the parade grounds, I don't care, but all these dick heads smoking right by the doors of buildings end up making all of the 1st floor hallways and rooms smell like shite.
