Yeah I feel like Telluride is the only way to get anything even mildly interesting at that price point/size.
I know people still have hang ups on Kias and I don't even know if I'd drive one, but almost everyone thinks the Telluride looks pretty good, so seems like it's probably the most "acceptable" Kia yet.

The Kia Stinger is a good looking car with great performance, but it likely won't last because it's trying to target European performance sedans. Badge means everything in that class.

We have a Pilot (2012) and love it. Taken it all over the country. Plenty of room in 3rd row. Drives great, highly recommend it.

Royal was offering “well equipped” Pilots for 29999

I just bought a 2017 Armada Platinum with 18k miles on it for $36K. Wife and I were very diligent in finding the best deal on one of these and were willing to wait until we found one. I wanted a 2018 but with this one only having 18k miles, I decided to pull the trigger as a 2018 with that kind of low mileage would still typically be $40k plus. New 2019 Platinum is $70k MSRP, so we feel like we did great.
You could get an SL edition for low 30’s if you’re willing to go used and don’t need the extra features of Platnum.
Only downside is gas mileage but we knew what we were signing up for.
ETA: Wife has a 2016 CX-9 that has previously been the family car, and she loves it. You may want to check them out. She’s just putting a ton of miles on it (45 mile commute each way every day, plus some travel to meetings as well outside of the commute) and is probably going to switch to a Rogue, CX-5, or something smaller as her everyday drive and we will use the Armada for family travel.

Been looking at midsize 3-row SUVs for a few months trying to decide if I want to buy one around the end of the year or sometime into next year.
Really like the redesigned Traverse, Telluride, and CX9.
What was your bad experience with a Traverse OP, and was it a pre-2018 or one of the redesigned?

Recommendation: The new GM Infantry Squad Vehicle seats 9 - more than any minivan.

Toyota or Honda would be your best bet. Will pay a bit more, but worth it in the long run.

Buy used with 10-30k miles on it. Look at the Acadia/Traverse
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

What’s the general rule for getting a great deal? Wait until late December and try to get an outgoing 2019 before the 2020s come in?
Budget is low-to-mid $30k if anyone has a recommendation. Thinking about Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, VW Atlas.
If you can find a used Honda Pilot with the Honda Sensing package for that price you should jump all over it
I rented a car with Honda Sensing. Adaptive Cruise and Lane Keep assist make interstate driving much easier

No love for the Buick Enclave in here? I have a 2015 with Captain seats in the second row and love it

2016 Tahoe LT: $37K with 3rd row and 30K miles.
That would be my winner if I was going to put lots of highway miles on a vehicle.

If you don’t need a lot of room in the back with the seats up then the ones you described will suffice. I would recommend the Telluride, Explorer, and Pilot.

I have a Honda with adaptive Cruise and Lane assist and I hate it.
Adaptive Cruise is okay until somebody changes lanes in front of you and car slows down by 7mph. Lane keep assist is aggravating as hell.

I’m surprised i would be saying this but after looking at the Telluride, i actually really like them

WE've had an Atlas for about 2 years now. No mechanical issues so far. We really like the 2nd row tilt feature (a car seat can be in the second and you can still tilt the 2nd row and access the 3rd row). The 6 year 72,000 standard warranty helped ease the concerns of getting a brand new line of vehicles, but it turns out the Atlas was released overseas under a different name in several years ago. Biggest complaint is 1st gear is a little jerky, but you learn how to smooth it out after a few weeks. Gas mileage is around 450-500 miles per tank, depending on the type of travel
We liked the Highlander as well, but we thought the Atlas had more interior room.
