B.O. is a bacterial thing. Not necessarily a sweating thing. However if you sweat and don't take a shower then the bacteria have food to set up shop. That's when the B.O. kicks in. The salts in antiperspirant kill the bacteria. Deodorant just mask the odor and most of the time not very well.

The poll found that about 40% of people 18-24 don't use deodorant at all and haven't in the last month.

I'm 40 and I've never used deodorant. If you shower daily you don't need it.

I can believe this. I run a warehouse and have two guys that come in stinking and it gets worse as the day goes on

I'd wager people in your life beg to differ. You just don't notice that you smell like bad onions and arse crack sweat.

I know multiple people who claim they don't use deodorant. They all, to a man, smell like arse every time we hang out, including a mere few hours after a shower. I call them Onion Arms to their faces.

The USA is turning French.

Next thing you know we will stop bathing on a regular basis. Oh wait some people already do that.

I can shower and put on deodorant first thing and by the time I get home, I feel like I stink and need another shower. Maybe it’s just me being paranoid about it, but I really don’t want to be the guy that stinks.

Are you in this group?

In general, the younger set is just lazy.

Nobody wants to see your PJ's at the grocery with your fat arse hanging out because you were too lazy to clean up before leaving the house.

The "Big Casual" is a sign the USA is becoming a 3rd world country.

There was an article I read the other day detailing out this movement to not use soap. Bathing in hot water with a wash cloth obviously but not using soap or only using it on the arse, crotch, and underarms. People went into great detail about what soap does do the skin ph and whatnot. Apparently this is becoming a thing.

Do kids not know about Castile soap?

Simple and effective.

That’s... no.

The aluminum in antiperspirant melts and fills your sweat glands, plugging them so you don’t sweat. That’s the distinction. Both antiperspirants and deodorants can have perfumes to cover odor as well as antimicrobial ingredients to kill bacteria.

Now, not all deodorants have both sets of ingredients, but that’s a separate quality/cost issue.

Ran out of deodorant two days ago. Yesterday afternoon I stunk. This morning I tried to get the remains of deodorant out of the applicator to use. Rotated my tires this AM and I’m on my way to buy anti perspiration;/deodorant. I’m used to not stinking.

for those making excuses on why they don't wear deodorant and why they "shouldn't" stink... please start wearing deodorant

Still use deodorant. Ditched the antiperspirant, unless it’s a fancy outing.

influx of H1B1 visas is causing this i suspect.

Nothing like trying to wash my hands in the restroom and not able to because a couple of greasy Indians are taking their mid day bath in our sinks.
