I live in Pittsburgh and cases are definitely rising, driven by the British variant. But vaccines seem to be working because it’s not the older folks but primarily younger people getting it. But damn, this British variant spreads like crazy. University of Pittsburgh had to ask student to shelter in place because it spread like wildfire there.

Trust me, I am in no way criticizing Florida

I know

I’m not either

But TD somehow got the idea that Florida is and has been “open”. That’s not the case.

Florida also just got through with a surge in crowds from spring breakers coming in from states that still have major restrictions on fun.

mask up people ..MASSiLSU ,me, got me my first shot today . My nurse was HAWT! Big grids small waist . No side effects and i feel great BUT i will continue to wear a mask until my govt tells me its ok to not . If all of us people do our little little part in this ,we will flatten the curve BUT we must continue to wear masks in certain places like airplanes and ballparks if we want to sit by each other and not in pods ..i think pods for one more yr would be good ....

Lockdowns only work if they're hard. We had way too many loopholes.

At this point, there should be no lockdowns. Anyone who wants a vaccine for the most part can get one.

Let the unvaxed take their chances.

Well they have pretty damn good chances with this virus since it's asymptomatic in most people.

New York, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey accounted for 44% of all new infections between March 29 and April 4 with about 197,500 cases out of around 452,000 seen nationwide, data from John Hopkins University show.
Florida population is loaded with refugees and snowbirds from NY, MI, PA, NJ. Likely bulk of their cases have roots in those 4 states.

Hope those college kids survived their fevers and sniffles.

Within another month or two life needs to be completely normal. No masks. No distancing. No shutdown. Nothing. By then everyone who wanted a vaccine will have one. No reason to continue safety theatre for people that won’t get a vaccine. It’ll never actually happen in many states but it should.
