Our gate agent told us about around 45mins ago that American was releasing flights now but is doing so based on order of originally scheduled departure as well as crew availability- timing out on hours etc

This is helpful info on here. Yeah on the surface things look fine, but if they're having people only check in using kiosks and planes are at capacity today it's going to be a shitshow

Can the good people at TD estimate the ripple? Are we talking hours, days, weeks, etc?

I’m on a direct flight. So far so good but not quite on the plane yet.

Interesting seeing all of the 6 and 7am south Florida flights on delta delayed until 10am at the earliest

Couple days. Outages will be fixed shortly, but the ripple will take some time, as now pilots and crew are running out of hours.
Guessing everything should be “normal” by Sunday evening, when the least amount of travelers are traveling, allowing them to catch back up completely

Use the app (if it's working). I've had good luck with the airline apps (besides American)

Current reason is a bad Microsoft update.

I completely understand that our lives are 1,000x easier due to computers, but don’t you wish sometimes we weren’t so damned reliant on them and the internet?

Sounds like delta is hit the hardest right now. Either that or they’re the only ones effectively communicating how bad this is.

All airlines are impacted but delta has done a better job communicating through its social media channels.

I looked at JFK and JetBlue is getting all their flights out this morning so kinda agreeing delta is getting hit the hardest (or AA or United)

My computer is in my bedroom and updates automatically, it started going through a recovery process about 2 am over and over.

Actually woke me up due to the noise, I can’t even logg on, I’m on a blue screen indicating Windows Didn’t Load Correctly.

And yes IT man I’ve rebooted 10 times before you ask
