Arizona was admitted in 1912 as the 48th and then no more were added for 47 years until Alaska and Hawaii joined. This was the 2nd longest period between additions (we are in a 59+ year drought).

Did people in 1928 think we would be at 48 forever? Will people look back on us and wonder if we knew states 51 and up were just around the corner? (Looking at you Guam. Also looking at you split up California)

I like the number 50

Merge New England into one state and break up California to stay at 50

I was at a Flea Market buying a 48 star US Flag... As I tried to negotiate the price the woman running the Flea Market said, "It was a good buy, they didn't make too many of those."

I was glad to know that I beat the rush...

The only reason to add a state would be if it would be an economic gain. Other than parts of Canada, there aren't many economic gain territories nearby.
No island is worth it, especially any Caribbean island.

Its a good location for a naval base and helps us control the Pacific. That's the only reason its a state.

My primary reasoning behind opposing any increase in states, and my logic is absolutely undeniable, is that the flag would look stupid.

You could argue Cuba would give us an economic gain with sugar, cigars, tourism, and rum.
