Libertyland - The Fairgrounds was rebranded this for about 20 years or so, was near the Midsouth Coliseum
In the early 70's, my brother and I got stuck in the haunted house ride there for 15-20 minutes. While we were waiting, my brother got out and tried to see if he could pull a blacklight bulb out of the fixture it was in. He couldn't get it out, but when we got outside, a policeman was waiting there for us. He ended up letting us go, but we came close to having them take us to the jail.

Opryland
Astro World
Dogpatch USA
Hamels (Shreveport)
The old bones and buildings of Dogpatch are still visible from the highway. I drove by it a few years ago. Spooky looking.
It closed in '93. According to an article,
Pelsor's partner wants out, so it is up for sale again.

It also faced controversy in 2005, when a man was hit in the throat by a neck-high steel cable while riding an all-terrain vehicle across the property. The man, identified as Pruitt Nance by the Harrison Daily Times, was awarded a $650,000 judgement. However, when owners didn’t pay, the park’s deed was handed over in lieu of cash in 2011.
Three years later, Pelsor came into the picture. A former millwright and brain behind “Buddy Bowl,” a spill-proof dog bowl, Pelsor never visited Dogpatch while it was open. He did pass it by, however, while keeping up with family connections in Pelsor, Ark. And when he was quietly notified that the park was for sale, he decided to see if he could write its next chapter.
Pelsor's partner wants out, so it is up for sale again.

Does anyone remember the original Six Flags in Arlington Tx? It was far better than the bland Six Flags parks around the country now. Each part of the park tried to exhibit the different cultures that once controlled Texas. One example was the shooting range in the Texas section, which had real .22 caliber rifles on chains to shoot targets with. Overall it just had character that you don't find in theme parks anymore.

It's been closed a long time. Google it for pictures of the deserted ruins.

Pontchartrain Beach - That place was great. It was like $5.50 pay one price back in the day to ride everything for the whole day.
Thunderbird Beach - Not sure if it qualifies as an amusement park. Mostly a swimming place with what must have been a prototype big slide (I think the thing was actually made out of metal). But if I remember it did have a few rides.
Astroworld - We went there when we evacuated to Houston for a hurricane - Katrina I think. I'm pretty sure that was right before it closed for good.
Opryland - only went once or twice and don't remember too much.
Dogpatch - this place was pretty much a dump even way back when it was open (went in the '70's I think).

My parents use to get summer passes to Astroworld for $35 for my brother and I. We would get dropped off and spend all day there nearly all summer
One of the reason why it closed.

Yes. They had 2 concrete slides and they gave you a small rubber mat to use. I remember getting all skinned up on that thing.
Can't remember the name to save my life. It was on the east side of 49 between Sunset and Opelousas.

Pontchartrain Beach
Astroworld
3 Banners Over Basile
Pontchartrain Beach had an awesome shooting gallery that used .22 cal rifles. The attendant had the rounds pre-loaded into tubes that he would dump into the tube magazine on the rifle.
