Don't know if it counts as an amusement park, per se, but Thunderbird Beach.

I remember this place. You could pet sting rays and horseshoe crabs and they had a dolphin show. I think Katrina destroyed it. Remember seeing a dolphin stuck in a hotel pool on the news.

EFOB

Also had a petting zoo for deer.

Sorry Kafka, just noticed I linked a page about the history of the Eight Flags.

This link has pics of the park.

Astro World - Houston, Texas
Missed this one. Lived in Pasadena in the late '60s-mid '70s and couldn't wait to get there after my parents pointed to location down the interstate. Went back when Greezed Lightnin' opened along with a visit to the zoo.

ETA: Houston Zoo, to be clear.

Delta Village - in Tallulah

Forgot about this one. Doubt it would have lasted till the 21st century regardless but the completion of that stretch of Interstate 20 hastened its demise by diverting traffic off U.S. 80

As a Pre-teen in the 70's, it was awesome.

Petting zoo, fake gun fights and the Can Can Girls--at the time, I had no idea why I liked watching women flip up their skirts and spin around, I just knew that I did.

Not part of South City Park?

Oh, right on the interstate south of Opelousas. It was a water slide that you rode on mats.

This was it but there had to be more than one slide. Maybe a pool or something else.

Yep, two slides beside each other but separated by the walls and it ended into a pool. Don't recall a wading area but some people hung around the end where you walked out and back up to the top.

Astroworld and Hanna-Barbera Land, which was somewhere north of Houston. Only went once when I was a little kid, but I remember Scooby Doo and the Smurfs. No idea how long it lasted.
