I'd vote for it if we defunded the COA.

You could fund a few of those by taking away COA money. I’m voting no until they decide to be responsible adults with tax dollars.

Property tax no. I would vote yes for a sales tax for road improvements.

Looking forward to paying the committees who meet to discuss the roads and how we cannot afford new ones.

Hell no to the property tax increase that we all know is coming if St. George incorporates. South BR would literally be funding services for the rest of the city. Broome will be desperate to fund her pander projects to NBR somehow.

And I’ll ask yet again... what changes to BR traffic will have a significant effect without either federal (interstate) or state (state highway) involvement?

Get firm commitments from the feds or state to upgrade 10, 12, 110, 61, etc, and we can talk.

She can get fricked. That money will go directly to her cronies and there won't be one bit of improvement.

Considering how before 2005 there wasn’t a comprehensive local road plan for 40 years, and how traffic appears to be funneled on the interstates, this is the worst argument you can make.

Look at the list. They want to add a fricking roundabout on Highland Rd. at Pecue.

Why is this bad? It’s kind of a shitty intersection currently.

At some point, the people of this city need to swallow their pride and do something to make things better. Traffic is shite. Everywhere. All the time.

There’s some really good, needed projects on that list. It’s a sales tax, so everyone is paying for it.

It is insane to think you need a BILLION dollars of local road improvements. BR ain't that big.

But I absolutely despise going to BR because of how bad the traffic is.

Maybe these capacity expansions would take traffic off I-10/I-12.

To bond out that much money you probably need 35 million a year in tax revenue from the jump. Is there 35 million in waste in EBR government? I am certain there is some... is their 35 million a year?

This new tax she is pitching is a sales tax, not a property tax per WBRZ

This is literally the current state of the existing Green Light Plan.

quote:

"At this point in the life of the Green Light Plan program, the available bond moneys have been expended as laid out in the original voters' referendum. Program funds are now limited to annual appropriations or the typical 'pay-as-you-go' model. It takes much longer for adequate right-of-way and construction funds for the larger type projects to become available, which spreads out the periods for reportable information
