I've looked at the numbers before when considering a job offer. It wasn't very significant 6-7 years ago but our taxes were going to be about 1200 less per year in TX.

USA Today has the rates equal at 7.6%. Just pointing out that we don't pay lower taxes. We just don't get much for our money that we already pay.

Look up most tax rankings and you'll see La and Texas are close in tax rates with La. slightly more.

And EBR isn't Harris County.
EBR population is approx. 447K
Harris County is 4.6 million people.

Do wtf are you talking about????
You are talking about a 2.5 Billion bond package as if that's a bigger deal than a 600 million dollar package here when it's not.

61 isn’t in the city? Airline goddamn Highway isn’t in Baton Rouge?

Now who is confused?

As far as the “city” goes, it’s a merged city-parish. Having to work on parish roads goes part and parcel with that merger.

If the city has a problem with it, they can reverse the merger and/or stop throwing a fit about unincorporated areas trying to become St George.

They are fixing to slam the road sales tax and then watch in the spring they will try to sneak the mental health property tax in.

I believe a council member said something similar to this to a Wbrz reporter. It seems like he meant he did not want to see two taxes during the same election. He felt people would get confused possibly voting down both taxes.

How many new taxes passed?
Too many, but look at the new taxes that we voted down!

If we passed every tax Kip and now Broome wanted wr certainly would be the tax capital of La.
