We could have gotten these more involved.

But y'all didn't want a gas tax.

Has worked stopped on that exit?
The mayor made a big show there, but nothing seems to be going on.

Yes. All they did was clear the land just prior to the voting of her last proposed tax increase. She was just dangling a carrot for those of us over here in that area.

BREC and The Library Board are flush with cash. That's money that should go to roads.

Does any money from the general fund go to libraries? I know there's a property tax for it that people were shamed into renewing.

Don’t believe so.

The library tax was originally sold as being the to supplement the library.

As soon as it passed, the city parish took the money normally earmarked for it and spent it elsewhere.

I will vote no.

They will have that money spent in 30 days and claim they need more money.

Yes.

When that red tape is that we have to meet 10% of the cost, and they cover the other 90%.

Problem is, we can't meet the 10%. We are working with 1986 dollars.

I’m talking about all the horseshite studies you have to do and all the whining from the businesses below 10, like Ivar’s, that would be affected by any widening.

Nowhere in there do I see funding to fix that abomination of flat surface between O'Neal LN and Sherwood Forest Blvd called Interstate 12. (I-12)

Probably because the city can't do that.

Hence, 10, 12, and 61 are taxes to capacity from people coming in via those routes.

None of these roads are city.

Attempts to reroute traffic with “road diets” on Government and other major arteries will likely be wastes of money at best or create new problems with traffic routed through residential neighborhoods at worst.

The Government road diet is to decrease traffic through a high residential area and force it to Florida and North.

High residential area?
Govt. St/La. 73 is lined with commercial buildings, schools, and shopping centers from Jefferson Hwy. to the river.

In the overall scheme of things spending that kind of money shrinking Government when other important projects don't get funded is crazy.

It's called a 90/10.
There's also an 80/20.

We miss out on a lot of these projects. Because we can't match.

No no no.

But keep complaining about your traffic and road conditions then refuse to pay menial increases in taxes.

You deserve EVERYTHING.
