When we see how our taxes are completely and utterly PISSED AWAY, why would we want to continue to pay ever-increasing taxes? Keep in mind, this would be a 30-year increase in sales tax.

Pull up the figures. Show how they're being pissed away.

It's public info...Show where it's being misappropriated

ETA: I don't like where some tax is going, and voted against it. But that doesn't mean it's being misappropriated

Look. I get the masses having issues, but it s what it is.

You stand on principle and then a have ZERO chance of improving. This gives you at least some chance.

The voters of EBR Parish voted to tax themselves a half cent for thirty years. We are still paying that.

It's not as if voters did nothing because we did. I'd vote to continue that tax but not continuing that tax an adding an additional tax.

ok

Do nothing. Vote it down. Show her your wrath.

Enjoy your roads.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat......and Texas just shakes it’s head in disbelief.

Read the audit on the COA.
Read the audit on the mayor and BRAVE.
Read the audit on the city selling choice property for 10K.

That's three examples right there.

You are aware your pissing and moaning is futile?

Your transportation issues will never change. Ever.

Just keep on keeping on

I know you work for the hwy. dept. I asked you a civil question about federal matches. If you say there's a program to get a 90/10 match then I believe you.

What the actual frick?!?!?!

You idiot! Do you have any idea?!?!

There is a reason public education and infrastructure are superior here.

Have you seen Harris County’s $2.5billion bond election slated for August? Guess what? It’ll pass with flying colors just like the last $1billion infrastructure bond election did.

Our property taxes are far higher than yours.

Come on man!

Lol

2.03 vs 3.70

The meaningful numbers.....yet you fail to focus on what the meat of personal expense is.

I thought it was funny at a metro council meeting in Jan of 2015, the St George Fire District asked for a 20 yr tax to go to the polls. This would have funded infalstructure projects such as adding fire hydrants in areas that have a shortage of them, a fire station off Nicholson drive, and other fire related projects. These projects would have got our district up to a class A rating reducing our homeowners insurance.

Some metro council members said that 20 yrs was to long for a tax without being renewed. The fire district cut back on projects and came back with a 10 yr tax.

Now this same metro council is looking at slamming a 30 yr road tax down our throats. BR needs to go to a 10 yr road tax and allow the tax payers to have a choice if they want it renewed.

It's a new council. SGFD should try again.
