It's not going to do much until an ISD is created.
46% of the people in St. George voted against incorporation. EBR Parish voted for JBE by a wide margin, yet they're going to vote yes on breaking the school system up?
The ISD will not happen in the next decade.

Certainly not going to make Ascension prices go up, but doubtful they dip either.
Hypothetically, a successful ISD in Baton Rouge would put downward pressure on housing prices in Ascension, Central, Zachary, etc.

Can someone create a thread with nothing but Better Together melts?

I really thought passage was going to be in the mid 60s.
That bullshite fear mongering campaign from Richard Lipsey obviously cut into the margins big time. Thankfully it wasn't enough for him to win.

It will take awhile to get our own school system as that is another hurdle.
Once that happens if things are done right and the schools are perceived by the middle class to be good then it could slightly level out home prices.
There will always be people that want to live in Ascension Parish to get out of EBRP all together.

It could if STG becomes a disaster
Residents gotta remember that if you make the wrong choices, you won’t end up like Zachary or Central....you’ll be more like Baker
Yesterday was simply step 1

Their spokesperson lives behind me. Maybe I should go do a little q and a?

Ascension will be fine. Dutchtown is one of the best schools in the state and there are plenty of people that just want to live in a quiet suburb.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something about Baker that seems different from St. George

Where is downtown St George going to be?

Exactly what part of the government was broken up?

breaking up the City Parish form of government,
Whut?
This won't change a thing about the CP form of government. They'll just have less infrastructure and people to forget about. They can truly concentrate everything on North Baton Rouge as they have been doing, only this time it won't look one-sided.

You can’t see what is about to happen. I’m just trying to spell it all out for you. It’s not going to last much longer. Just think of a St. George citizen becomes the new mayor of Baton Rouge.
How long do you think the citizens of the actual city of Baton Rouge are going to put up with the other cities getting to vote for their mayor? I guess I just blew your mind.

On top of that, the NAACP started agitating for the breakup of the CP government earlier this year when it became clear that even with a black mayor and a black majority in the city they weren’t going to have their way with the Metro Council as a whole.
