Old people vote in the largest numbers too. I think it passes but I think it will be relatively close.

Will Woodlawn High become part of the St. George independent school district? To my knowledge, there’s not another public high school that would be in St. George.

Irrelevant at the moment since there is no ISD, or at least not a funded one.

I live in a St George neighborhood that skews pretty old in stretches and the anti-St George signs are plentiful. Not that there’s any statistical weight to that observation— just seems to support that some of the elderly folks are leaning “no”.
That is why I am not as convinced it will pass as I had been before the last few of weeks. The scare tactics they are using work with retired people are effective especially bringing in Skip to sale the Together lie. If they are not sure who to trust between 2 sides and are making out ok with status quo that's they way they will vote and avoid risk. If unsure They also would be likely to wait until Saturday to vote, but they will vote.
Also any SG supporter who put off voting until tomorrow can easily get overconfident with talk that its done deal and choose tailgating instead of waiting in line to vote. That will not happen with anyone who has been moved by the recent large push with Skip, the Advocate, and sensitive to the financial scare tactics being used. They will make sure to still vote.
Everything is pretty one sided in local media, and I really have not seen anyone dynamic enough pushing StG to overcome any fear or doubt caused by this hard push recently especially with media playing to BR. Bringing out Bertman was brilliant being what voters were undecided. It doesn't have to be true. its what looks true. Bertman was full of crap and probably reading lines, but he has always been a salesman. I think it was a homerun with seniors and undecided who got pushed towards keeping status quo versus embracing the unknown. I hope SG supporters are pushing their message and to get vote out until polls close even with game.

How does St. George get to draw their own boundary lines?
Shouldn't the incorporated part of Baton Rouge have a say so or have a vote.
This kind of stuff proves how effective BR's push has been with ignorant people. Why should people in incorporated city of BR get a vote on issue regarding whether or not the people living in an unincorporated area outside of incorporated BR decide to incorporate? What makes residents inside BR more special than those outside of BR city limits?
Would you be ok with rest of parish deciding to dissolve the city of Baton Rouge?

When they form the ISD, Woodlawn would be the sole HS in St.G
I would bet, they would change the name of the school, to something more fitting.

This vote for St George is an act of racism and would kill Baton Rouge financially
Baton Rouge is already dead financially because of people like you voting in the current leaders.
Racism is the cry and argument of the ignorant.

Just so you know, Baton Rouge has the best credit rating out of all municipal governments in Louisiana.

For now. Baton Rouge will be Jackson, MS in under 10 years at this current rate.

Idc if she is black or a woman if they are a competent person. That is my argument. We currently have a mayor, literally going door to door to push her narrative.

I said this in another thread, but just because she’s an elected official doesn’t mean she can’t have a political position or campaign on her on time.
I’m pro-St. G but have nothing against the Mayor-President volunteering to campaign against the initiative.

Besides a new school district and breaking up the City Parish form of government, what’s the next thing you want to come of this?
For St George to change its name to Bon Baton Rouge.
