OP was coddled and protected by a union for 20 years, of course he thinks that's how it's supposed to work.

He sleeps 10 hours out of 36? The horror

ETA: my bad, thought I saw Sunday at 8 am.

Either way, I sleep 5 hours on a regular night so I’m not seeing the issue

The hours are regulated more for the safety of patients. You don't want a nurse going on his/her 3 16's in a row of administering drugs to a patient. All kinds of things can go wrong because of exhaustion and lack of sleep. There's a reason why they don't work more than two days in a row. It has nothing to do with unions either.

Adds up.

I worked over 100 hours last week with a 1 month old baby. Tell your son to be a man.

If he was a little smarter, he'd be a doctor and wouldn't have to do woman's work.

When he does come home, do you still have to wipe his arse for him too?

I think he would love it if you would talk with his boss about this problem. Maybe set up a conference for all three of you to sit down. Invite his dad to join, too, if he’s available.
