Ha, I don't need anything nice. I am all about the sifted through and 2nds. Just have all their wheels. Made a little garage to hand them out for free so don't care for anything specific

That garage is cool as heck, great idea. Send me an address and I’ll box up what I have left from when I was a kid and send them to u. They’re just hanging out in a box in my basement. Think there are 2-3 dozen.

where would one do this? Do you have a collection bin in a grocery parking lot

They leave it in the box. Have had some people hang stuff on my fence if it is more than will fit in the box.

I’ve only been doing it a year but I’m always curious what you get most excited to find, as in a sure thing big profit each time. For me it’s golf clubs lately. Buy a set for $5. Sell it for $75-100 within a week typically. It’s a quick and easy turnaround without having to ship anything. I’m always looking to find what makes for a great item though. Lately our garage sales where I live haven’t had much.

I like the odd things, the things most people would pass on, like the oversized 1952 movie poster from last year. I paid $5, sold for $500, and the guy paid $400 for shipping.
I once found a small box of train tickets dating from 1910 to 1930. They were yearly passes issued to one guy and his wife, for several different railroads. I paid 35¢, they sold for nearly $1000.

The sure things are good, but I like the hunt. How many people would have bought a huge box of sewing needles? The box was $1, I maybe looking at $100+.

Here’s a video of highlights from last year. This only took place over three weeks. I couldn’t miss.

I like finding things like the Chuck Taylors and other boots. I had no idea they were worth that much. The movie poster is in the video.

This is what makes it fun and is how I usually approach it.

One of my best buys was a box of old Kodak slides from the 1950s that I paid $5 for. The pics were taken by a guy in the Army stationed in Greenland. There were, I think 7 or 8 pics of airplanes and helicopters.

One helicopter slide sold for $365.00. Another brought $185.00. Three slides of the same plane on a runway sold for over $200.00. A couple others brought just under $100.00.

I sold various oddball slides of skiers and icebergs and such for an average of ~$20. I still have quite a few that would sell for $10-$15 each.

Another hit was some weird, round slide rule calculator instrument things. They were plastic and from the 50s or 60s. I paid $3 apiece for them. The best one sold for over $200.00, and the other two both brought over $100.

My Mom bought a solid brass luggage rack/shelf from a yard sale for $2 because she liked it. It turned out to be from the New South Wales (Australia) railroad and was from one of their cars. It sold for $285 (I think....maybe more).

I could list many other good scores. Random coffee cups from thrift stores alone that I'd buy for a quarter to 75 cents made me several hundred dollars combined. You never really know the value that some things have to other people. It is wild.

They only sell for around $15-$20. I was thinking along the line of a Kershaw knife but with a Klein name.

Thats crazy lower than I expected. Especially when you consider a single wire nut with the name Klein on it is often financed.
