How could you possibly do that to a child?

there are quite a few names out there that make me ask this question. Have you ever seen a travel ball roster?

Pretty cool name tbh. It means light-bringer. The name wasn't a thing until the Vulgate. I think it was Helel in the Hebrew or Aramaic versions.

A kid in a 2nd grade class I used to volunteer for was named Demon. Dee'mohn was how it was pronounced, but spelled straight up demon. No air commas or nothing.

This.

Despite what all the dumbasses in this thread post in defense of someone naming their child that, this kid will face significant problems in the future for his name alone.

It is like naming someone Adolf.

Public shaming for poor choices should be more prevalent.

Not exactly. It’s more “light-bringer,” and the name for the “morning star.”

I mean, we live in a time where it looks like parents just dump scrabble tiles on the floor and whatever name that creates, that's what they go with.

Note to self, no play dates with little Lucifer. Don't sign any birthday invitations.

Adolf is a masculine given name of Old High German origin, meaning "noble wolf" (from athal meaning "noble" and *wolf")

According to Google's AI search deal. Pretty weird stuff. I don't get why someone would choose to name their kid something like that

Are you sure it's Lucifer and not Lucien?

ETA: Ah, class roster would have it spelled out. Fair enough.

My kid comes home and mealy mouths words all the time that make me wonder until I investigate he said something wrong.

I had AI do this by pulling ten random scrabble tiles (out of 20):

ZEKRAVILTOR

QAMERLIVTOX

JOVARELTNIK

XALERITVONK

TOVRANELQIX

VELTORANJIK

Here is 8 out of 20:

Varintek

Solmariq

Kelvator

Ranviloq

Torviken

Lomvaret

Kervalin

Vorintal

Selvoriq

Navertik
