I guess it was too cold for the mail person (I have multiple- male and female) because my neighborhood didn't get mail today. This also happens when it rains all day. Is this just a New Orleans thing? Too cold or too wet, take the day off?

Whatever happened to "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"?

That was the ancient Greek historian Herodotus in reference to the Persian system of royal messengers. The USPS never got the memo.

we used to go days without mail for no reason. We now have this young buck who knocks it out like clockwork. Shows up everyday within a twenty minute window.. looking forward to giving him a Christmas gift

Mine came up my drive and handed me the mail, and a package today. She asked about the family, and I commented on her Jonesboro Hodge sweatshirt. I may live in town, but it's not a big town.

I'm in a swanky part of Old Metairie and nothing on a Monday anymore or it is at 7-8 at night. Pussies.

My mail lady came twice in one day. After she did her route, she went back and saw a package for my wife that was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. She remembered my wife being happy and thankful last time she delivered to us, so she made the extra trip to us on her way home. That was really nice of her.

Mine honks her horn when she pulls up if there is a package that doesnt fit in the mailbox

I make it a point to answer the door when she brings it up so she knows im not coming out to do her job for her.

Probably because it was a rainy, cold day and OP's mailman was the one delivering it.

I would figure the USPS to be on the “cutting edge” of the current gender identification nonsense.
