My dog has done the same on my carpet. I use some stuff called “Nature’s Miracle” or something of the like. Comes in a spray bottle. Haven’t used it on clothes, but it does a pretty good job on carpet.

That smell is god awful though. Smells like the inside of an elephant’s a-hole.

I'm not sure who has the worst post the OP or you since you apparently have been in the OPs shoes....no pants before.

Your dog just needs more fiber to firm up the shite. We use a spoon full of canned pumpkin every now and then.

The vet or groomer can express the gland for $20 or so. Won't totally prevent it from happening at home but your dog may be uncomfortable if the glands are swollen.

Put a picture of the dog and the shorts along with a brief description on EBay. You may be sitting on a pile of gold.

I often express myself in the shower. Only need about 15 minutes to recover and express myself with my wife.

But I'm fairly young and still attracted to my wife.

Reduces frequency, that's for sure.

The glands are meant to carry a scent that goes on their poop to mark it outside. Its why dogs sniff other dogs poop.

Inside dogs often get a build up and they can squeeze the glands to empty them. It takes them like 30 seconds to do tops.

I get my dog's expressed 2-3 times a year when we get him groomed and washed. The vet can quickly do it too at checkups, which we've also done.

ETA:

FWIW, we have a 75 lb golden doodle. When his glands express at the house, its bad enough to burn the house down and start over.

It has only happened like 4 or 5 times, but those instances are seared in our memories.

Dog butt juice is a reason to retire those shorts.

This is supposed to be included in the grooming. We just recently learned that our dog needs help expressing. If s/he starts showing signs of discomfort between trips to the groomer, than you should do it yourself.

My big sister is a vet tech (vet nurse), and she told me I can do this at home to my own dog and then she told me how.
