Man, this really hurts to read this. This is a huge fear of mine, to accidentally leave something out or unintentionally hurt a pet that we obviously love so much. I read stories about humans dying all the time, and it rarely ever phases me. But when it comes to animals, it hits me in the feels. So sorry for what you and your family are going through. Izzy looks like she was such a loyal companion. RIP sweet girl

I’m so sorry, she was a beautiful girl. I assumed she was a puppy as it sounded like a pup-thing to do. I wouldn’t expect my grown dogs to do this, either. I know it may be hard to do it immediately, but give yourself some grace.

I am so sorry for this happening.
It's a warning to me to know where there is a 24 hour vet. I don't know of one within twenty miles.

You need to know that this is a worse time for you. Can you give yourself a hour of peace once a week?. Does meditation work for you? Can you go fishing without a line or bait, just sit and watch the water and creatures.
What got me through a horrible year was having a facial once a week at Nieman Marcus in Houston (I am a woman but men get them too). It cost a lot less than a shrink, and I could simply clear my mind. Maybe a trim and a good old fashioned shave would do the same?

Many good thoughts...pull them up to push the others aside.

I feel so bad for you Will. You gave her 10 wonderful years and kept her safe from countless other possible deaths.

She could have frozen to death without the warmth and love in your home.
She could have been killed by a pack of coyotes without you as her shepherd.
She could have been hit by a car without your control of her on a leash.

She had a great life and loved you in the same way that you loved her. One accidental incident does nothing to change that.

Good job to you and I will pray for you to feel peace tonight.

I am so beyond very sorry! My heart breaks for you! I had a dog that got into NSAIDS and while he was at the vet for a while we had to put him down because it was too much damage so I unfortunately know exactly how you feel. I wish there was more comfort I could give you, but you have my deepest sympathies and all mine and my family's love. Rest in peace beautiful Izzy!

Sorry for your loss, man. Maybe this was answered already but why wasn’t she taken to an emergency vet immediately?

Huh? The next day? You didn't immediately take her to emergency?

No reason for this

Unnecessary comment at this point. Don’t be a bitch.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. All we can do is create a place for you on here to grieve, shout, complain, and hopefully overcome. I’ll keep you in my prayers. Take it one hour at a time, one day at a time.

Beautiful dog

Try not to beat yourself up too much over this. We assume these bottles that claim to be childproof are secure.
