Guess I'm asking, did y'all have parents who also almost were ingrained to maximize time and opportunity to make money?

My parents are boomers but this has been ingrained in them. Every now and then my dad will get a wild hair and by something extravagant

My daddy had no less than 3 Thrifty Nickles at all times in the 80s 90s. Truck, house and bathroom Deals to call about circled with a magic marker to see if he could flip

chronologically i am considered a Boomer (born 1960) but since my parents were 16 and 14 when WWII ended i dont think its an appropriate term for me

i identify more with GenX anyway

grandparents were all born between 1898 and 1911

Same, but without the siblings.

Dad born in 31, mom in 37. Married in 56, I was born in 76.

My dad was first generation American. His parents were from the UK and moved to Canada after WW1. He had two sisters born Canada and then they came to the US and had another daughter and him.

I was playing in Ancestry today and found his Selective Service registration card from 1949. He was drafted but ended up backfilling 7th Army in Germany while friends of his went to Korea. I have a picture of him on a REO, cigarette in hand, celebrating his 21st birthday in Augsburg, Germany.

MY mom and dad were both born in 35. My mom was a widow when they met. I had 3 half-siblings born in 52 (twin sisters) & 54 (brother). I was born in 62, and my little sister in 65.
